  • "The apartment was nice an clean, just a few things (as fellow owners and renters) The outside furniture is not very safe, the material has blown so the table is not suitable to use and the stools are not good either."

A couple of nice plastic normal wicker chairs and a table would be more suitable to be able to relax in the courtyard. The location was ideal for us, the only main issue is parking but you have up until 11.00am the following day to move on which was fine.

Hi Greta. Thank you for your feedback. I will sort out new garden furniture immediately.. I did not know it was in such a bad state. Thank you for letting me know. I can only apologise that it wasn’t there for your stay. Property Owner

  • "The flat was very clean but there was a smell of sewerage in the hall that was SO overwhelming it spoilt the experience."

The staff at the office were aware of previous complaints regarding the smell. The description states there is a private yard, this was full of weeds and the furniture dirty rusty and unusable. When I asked about it I was told it was a ‘shared area’ that they we not able to maintain. The flat however is in a great location, once the drains are sorted and the yard cleaned it will be a lovely place to stay

  • "This property was lovely to stay in!"

It was clean and comfy, with the convenience of being situated in the centre of Dartmouth. Would definitely recommend!

  • "We enjoyed the place for the surrounding and closeness of the center of Dartmouth."

Nice little touch added to make us at home were really appreciated. Down side is a missing diner table as breakfast bar is very small. Also, shower cubicle is great, the bathroom sink is in a very small space. We noticed a strong smell, probably coming under the kitchen sink but that did not bother us too much as bleach was provided. Bedroom was fantastic but bed was too low for us. Overall a nice little place and we definitely will keep in mind for the future.

  • "I enjoyed my 11 days at First Officer's Quarters, a lovely apartment close to everything Dartmouth has to offer."

I was however I little disappointed that when I arrived the hot water system was not on, the rear court yard was very dirty and the fence between the next garden was down. So I had to - locate the main fuse box and switch on the power, clean up the court yard and put the fence back up. ( I did switch off the water heater before I left to save power). The next morning I advised the local management office of the fence issue - but nothing was done before I left. When I mentioned it again on leaving to the Sykes head office I was told that the local agent had advised that they were "not aware of the fence problem". The apartment was well stocked with pots and pans etc, but no lids, or a microwave. The bed was very comfortable and the heating worked well during the cold spring evenings. The shower was excellent and the heated towel rail was a bonus. The owner has designed the apartment very well and there were a number of nice features. Overall I enjoyed my stay but it could have even better with a little more interest and attention to detail from the local agent. Even when I left they did not even ask if I had enjoyed my stay or how things went.

I am so sorry for this lack of attention from the managment company. I’m embarrassed that the flat was not 100% ready for you and I am trying to solve this with the local agent who manage the flat. I can only apologise for the lack of microwave and a new one has now been purchased. I’m glad at least that you enjoyed the flat and it’s decor. Property Owner

  • "Earlier reviews of the property recorded visitor concerns about dirty cups - this was the case for us also."

Earlier reviews also suggested the main bed mattress is poor - it is and springs felt through it & it should be replaced. Garden wall lights & living area free standing lamp need new bulbs or corrective action. Some better instructions over the use of the TV system for non-satellite, non Netflix people, would be helpful. Overall a lovely property & with a few tweaks could be 10/10.

I can only apologise again for the poor level of cleaning. This is out of my hands but I have addressed it again with the management. A new bed has been provided in December 2021. The TV is a smart TV. There is no terrestrial tv as of yet. It is not advertised with this. Property Owner

  • "The property is small, in keeping with the description, and the breakfast bar too cramped to use."

There is an odd smell in the property which it would be helpful to address. The bed is of poor quality, and could certainly be improved.

I’m afraid there isn’t much I can do about the size of the breakfast bar. As there is only a limited space in the kitchen. The smell has been address as there was a damp issue behind the boiler and a new mattress has been provided in December 2021 Property Owner

  • "Due to the amount of money we were paying I had expected to have a clean property, there was a used ear cleaning bud under the bed and the mugs and glasses were dirty in the cupboard as well as the coffee machine having old used pods left inside."

We also had only one toilet roll for the weekend stay as well as only one black bin liner. Some of this may have been avoided had there been access to sufficient cleaning supplies. overall a nice property but let down by the clear lack of attention to detail.

The managment company organise the cleaning of the apartment. I have asked them to review the company who are cleaning and hopefully this is just a once off. It is the policy of Coast and country to provide 1 bin liner and toilet roll. I have requested that the bathroom cabinet is always filled with toilet rolls for future bookings. To Property Owner
