  • "A delightful holiday home, 3 ladies sharing this house was no problem."

3 toilets , 3 beds, brilliant. The only problem my single bed had a tog 10 duvet on it, so rather hot on occasions. Situation very good for access to Dartmouth centre, shops and restaurants on foot. Free parking provided for the week in car park. Unloading and loading was a little tough as you had to fetch the car and stop outside the property on a 6ft. wide road. We were lucky. Plenty to see and do in and around Dartmouth, which is an unspoilt town. In an unspoilt area.

  • "Full Deck is a lovely comfortable holiday cottage."

Just 2 minutes into Dartmouth town. No need for a car to see Dartmouth and walk around town or harbour area. We had a car park pass for the mayor avenue municipal car park just 10 minutes away, which was a god send as this is very busy. Parking is a challenge and on the days we went out exploring other holiday picks, we got back to find we had to wait a bit and drive around to find a space. The cottage is in a quiet road so only gets passers by walking into town . Very comfortable new beds, very clean. The decoration and furnishings are by local artists and lovingly designed. We visited end of September, during COVID-19, so everywhere was secure and clean. We picked up our keys from the sister travel company office just by the main car park at teatime. The property is just by the seven stars pub and singing kettle teashop which are great places to eat. Our weather wasn’t warm so we didn’t get chance to use the outside patio or bbq area. We would recommend this property.

Thank you so much for your lovely feedback. We are so pleased that you found Full Deck a comfortable base to enjoy Dartmouth. the owners have now completed a full refurbishment of the property and would love to welcome you back to see the improvements! Property Owner

  • "The downstairs felt dirty and smelt of dog pee and the floor wasn’t clean."

The shower drain could do with a clean as the water was quite high

We were so sorry to hear that the property wasn't presented to our usual high standards for your stay. We would have course have addressed any issues should you have raised them with us during your stay. We also want to advise that the property no longer accepts pets (as of 2021). Despite this we hope you enjoyed your time in Dartmouth. Property Owner

  • "As soon as we entered Full Deck we felt at home."

Photos can be deceptive and "spacious" has a wide ranging description but this house was as good as it looked and it was spacious. Lovely outside space complete with table and chairs, was sheltered. The house was decorated very tastefully (especially loved the drawing of the house!) and been well maintained. The kitchen was superb with first class facilities and there was a huge supply of books and games to pass the time if necessary. In a very quiet neighbourhood with the town centre and river a mere 10 minute walk away. The office staff welcomed us warmly and answered all our questions very helpfully. Our holiday was great from start to finish and would recommend our experience to anyone. Sincere thanks to all concerned.

  • "A superb cottage handily placed for the centre of Dartmouth and the Dart Ferry."

Impressed by the large bedrooms,(and the large bed!), which remained nice and cool even in the heat we enjoyed that week. We would have liked a tea towel/dish cloth for washing up as we didn't have enough dishes for the dishwasher. I think it's a pity that there isn't a photo of the outside of the cottage on the website as I was unsure as to whether or not to book this property as I wondered if it may be a non-traditional building (chalet-type etc), but it's an attractive property. But other than that, great, well up to Sykes high standards.

  • "This was our second visit and was just as good as the last one."

The house is beautiful, well positioned with just a short walk into town and the car park pass was very useful. Devon is a stunning county and May is the best month to come to see all the wildflowers in the hedgerows Hope to visit again one day!

  • "When we settled down to watch television in the lounge on Saturday evening we found that there was no signal."

The instructions that were in the cottage for the tv did not make sense and despite all our efforts we were unable to view any tv programmes. As the office had closed we were unable to speak to anyone until Monday morning. The person we spoke to then said they would sort the problem that day. We were out all day and when we returned we found that the tv was still not receiving any signal. We telephoned the office and were told that someone had been to the property but had failed to get the tv to work. On Tuesday they contacted a tv engineer who visited the property while we were out and claimed he had fixed the problem. However, when we returned to the property late afternoon we still couldn't get the tv to work. We phoned the office and a member of staff called Joe came to the cottage and he too could not get the tv to work. He spoke to the engineer who gave him instructions over the phone but still was unable to get a signal. Joe then arranged for the engineer to return on Wednesday to replace the aerial and cables. Again we were out all day and when we returned the tv was working at last. Therefore in view of the disruption to our holiday caused by this situation we feel that we should receive some financial compensation (not money off a future holiday) for the lack of a tv service for over half our holiday.

Dartmouth lies on the banks of the beautiful River Dart estuary in the popular and picturesque South Hams area of South Devon. Located within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and close to the coast, Dartmouth is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Devon. It offers a stunning waterfront, ancient narrow streets lined with boutique shops, restaurants and art galleries plus many local events such as the annual Dart Music Festival and the Port of Dartmouth Royal Regatta, along with the Dartmouth Food Festival held every October. There are many interesting cycling and walking routes around Dartmouth, including the South West Coast Path, the Dart Valley Trail and plenty of quiet country lanes. A trip on the Dartmouth Steam Railway through picturesque countryside to Paignton is a must, and so is a boat trip across to Kingswear and on to Brixham, a pretty little harbour town. For those seeking some beach activities, there is a wide choice in the South Hams area such as Blue Flag Award winner Blackpool Sands, and Slapton Sands, both extremely popular and just a stone's throw from Dartmouth.
