The property

Enjoying a riverside setting next door to the Floating Bridge restaurant and pub is this delightful home, Sandquay Cottage.

Appealing to families and friends, this inviting retreat makes an excellent base for those looking to explore the picturesque coastline and countryside of the South Hams area of Devon.

Discover the spacious kitchen/diner, complete with sleek electrical appliances and a dining table, here you can delight in a bottle of wine whilst the chef of the group whips up something delicious.

Carry the conversation to the first-floor sitting room, hosting ample seating for all to gather round and enjoy a family film, or simply take in the tranquil riverside views from the bay windows.

There are three bedrooms at this Dartmouth cottage, including one on each floor; downstairs you’ll find a sumptuous super-king-size room, benefitting from an en-suite shower room, on the first floor there is a double served by a smart bathroom and the second-floor occupies another super-king-size, this time with a lovely en-suite bathroom.

Catch a breath of fresh air within the enclosed courtyard, home to a set of table and chairs, which offer an alternative dining arrangement.

Positioned next to a friendly pub, you won’t have to look very far for food and drinks, while a stroll into the centre of Dartmouth allows you to explore its narrow streets, lined with quality restaurants and pubs, as well as independent shops and enticing art galleries.

If a day at the beach is on your to-do list, head to the sandy shores of Sugary Cove Beach, or if you’re the adventurous kind, pop on your walking boots and embark on a thrilling hike along the rugged cliff tops of the South West Coast Path.

A trip on the Dartmouth Railway is the perfect way to explore the area from a different perspective, or take a boat trip across the Dart to Kingswear to see its imposing castle and the Brownstone Battery, one of the few surviving Second World War coastal defence positions.

Sandquay Cottage awaits you and your loved ones, any time of year.

About the location

DARTMOUTH

Totnes 12 miles.

Dartmouth lies on the banks of the beautiful River Dart estuary in the popular and picturesque South Hams area of South Devon. Located within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and close to the coast, Dartmouth is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Devon. It offers a stunning waterfront, ancient narrow streets lined with boutique shops, restaurants and art galleries plus many local events such as the annual Dart Music Festival and the Port of Dartmouth Royal Regatta, along with the Dartmouth Food Festival held every October. There are many interesting cycling and walking routes around Dartmouth, including the South West Coast Path, the Dart Valley Trail and plenty of quiet country lanes. A trip on the Dartmouth Steam Railway through picturesque countryside to Paignton is a must, and so is a boat trip across to Kingswear and on to Brixham, a pretty little harbour town. For those seeking some beach activities, there is a wide choice in the South Hams area such as Blue Flag Award winner Blackpool Sands, and Slapton Sands, both extremely popular and just a stone's throw from Dartmouth. A relaxing location in South Devon.
