"A fantastic location close to the town centre."
Fabulous views of the river from both main bedrooms. The welcome hamper was a nice touch with local produce. We would definitely recommend this cottage.
"The cottage is in a lovely elevated location, overlooking Dartmouth, and it has some wonderful views of the town, harbour, and Kingswear."
The upper two floors of the cottage were bright, and the furnishings very comfortable. There was quite a substantial discoloured stain on one of the comfy chairs on the middle floor which was very off-putting. Downstairs in the kitchen/lounge area was slightly disappointing. It doesn't appear as comfy and bright as the photos online suggest. There was a severe lack of storage space for food. In fact, there were no spare cupboards available meaning that we could not do a big shop to feed the five of us - we had to buy items daily. The outside area was lovely to sit in.
"Bedrooms are comfortable with lovely views."
The living room / kitchen however needs a really good clean. The furniture in there is uncomfortable ,(patio furniture in the living room ,???? )The tele reception is very poor. Carpets and rugs in the communal areas need a good clean.
"Lovely cottage and views from the bedrooms were fab ."
Nice to have a parking permit too . Access to cottage to drop off packs isn’t easy unless you manage to park on the double yellow lines on the fork . Still a steepish walk to cottage . 69 steps from beside the cottage takes you to town . Great to have M&S food in town . Furniture in lounge is really uncomfortable - garden rattan seats are fine to sit outside but not conducive for chilling indoors . NO HAIRDRYER ! I’ve never had that before and would have liked communication with the owners before I arrived to introduce themselves, and find out if there were basic things in kitchen - cooking oils , salt, pepper and tin foil etc . All things that are extra to pack on a self catering holiday . Would recommend Coleton Fishacres NT - lovely house and gardens . But just nice to sit and people watch in Dartmouth without using the car .
"The Cottage is really delightful, very clean and the views did not disappoint."
We appreciated having the parking permit. It would have been really helpful to have had a hairdryer in each bedroom, they are large items to pack and most properties we stay in have them. The addition of a secure keybox at the front door would help to give greater independence to guests who want to come and go at different times.
"We had a lovely stay over Easter."
The view from the cottage is beautiful and the bay windows in the bedrooms are the perfect place to sit and enjoy them while reading a book. Downstairs will be a relief on a hot summers day but a bit cold in the cooler months. Take a blanket if you are planning to curl up and watch TV. Everything was clean and the welcome pack helped on the first evening until we manged to go shopping.
"We had a great New Year stay."
The cottage is really well located with fab views across the town to the river and beyond. A short walk into town and everything that Dartmouth has to offer. The cottage was very clean, warm and well equipped which made our stay very comfortable. We would definitely consider staying again if we return to Dartmouth.
"Fabulous location and views."
Lower floor with lounge and kitchen is chilly so spent most time in 2nd & 3rd floor rooms. I would definately recommend and would return in spring or summer.
"Our stay at the Cottage was perfect."
The cottage is very quaint with stunning views from the front bedrooms over the estuary. Several of the feedback comments I had read before booking the cottage have actually been addressed - there was a welcome pack containing basic cleaning essentials, and tea/coffee for example - and I'm really struggling to think of any bad points. There is not a plug in the sink of the en suite bathroom and the hoover is a bit naff, but I'm really nit-picking. We are a family of five (with 2 teenage boys at 6 ft tall) pand whilst at times the kitchen could get cramped if we were all trying to do things in there at the same time, it really wasn't a problem. The car park gets very busy so we found that if we went out for the day it was best to arrive back 'home' between 5 and 6pm, in order to easily find a space. All in all we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and we'll certainly miss our evenings looking out over Dartmouth. Oh, one final thing: there is actually an iron and ironing board in the cottage so no need to take your own like we did!
"The cottage was 3 mins from centre of town great views especially from bedroom windows split into 3 levels ."
Had all the comforts you would expect , we had a great time there ate out but also used cooking facilities, loads of plates cups pots and pans etc . Only issue if you have mobility issues getting up to the cottage might be an issue as the road was only 6ft wide and double yellows as no parking, however you are provided a parking permit on arrival at the office straight across the street . But we all had a great time and would return for sure .
"Very convenient location."
Stunning views. Thank you for allowing us to stay in your lovely house.
"We had a great week in the Cottage for Dartmouth Music Festival."
Would definitely go back again. Ideally the sofa and chairs need to be smaller for the size of sitting area and there were a couple of maintenance items to be done. I have given the Dartmouth Office a list of items which would improve the Cottage but would certainly not put me off going back.
"Property was in an excellent location, well appointed and comfortable."
Overall an good stay that I would recommend. 2 areas that should be improved. 1, the rain loudly dripped onto the window sill of the top-floor bedroom. This ruined a nights sleep. Possibly a guttering issue? It needs fixing. 2, it was disappointing to see there wasn't any washing up items - cloths, sponges, washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets. etc. It has become normal for short term rentals to provide a small amount of these things (enough for a few days, not more). It was noted that this wasn't available.
"A good experience overall."
However internet didn’t work at that time.
"Given the current pandemic we were less than impressed with the cleanliness of the property."
We also were very disappointed to find previous issues had not been rectified. The gutter is a particular issue along with a deep clean that is required
"The Cottage is a lovely place to spend your time in Dartmouth, it has a great location and from two of the the bedrooms there are views of Dartmouth, although limited views of the river, it is nice to sit looking at the view with a cuppa every morning."
The house is very spacious and the beds are comfortable, it's lovely having two big bathrooms too. There are a few niggles we found, such as the kitchen utensils need replacing as the bread knife was blunt (no good when you bring bread and cheese back for a snack), we also could have done with some sponges and cloths to wipe the surfaces down. There is a leak on the guttering on the top bedroom, so when it rains the drip could drive you mad, I expect that would be difficult to fix based on the houses location. It would have been nice to have been left a pint of milk (as in most holiday lets) but M&S is just round the corner. The radiator doesn't work in the middle bedroom but the house heats up quickly with the thermostat. The grey sofa downstairs isn't that comfortable but I think it would be hard to find a suitable comfy one to fit in the space. We would stay there again as it's a lovely house and it is very handy to have the permit for Mayors carpark.
"The cottage was lovely ,the beds very comfortably, the only negative was that the lounge furniture was not comfortable, but the chairs in the bedrooms got more use."
"Really loved Dartmouth, the cottage has great views and is centrally located."
"Convenience of proximity to everything Parking facilities given with booking the cottage made life more relaxed not having to worry about finding parking."
"I agree with previous comments that the sofas are uncomfortable but this is really due to the fact it is rattan ‘outside’ furniture and I guess owners don’t plan on people longing around on it for long."
Perfectly adequate for a short break and the cottage has a lovely home from home feel albeit slightly dated. The most convenient position and delightful views from 2 main bedrooms.
"The living area was far too small for 4 or 5 people."
The furniture was uncomfortable in the living area. It was more suitable for patio/garden furniture. There were only 2 of us and we cooked most evenings but found we just got in one another's way due to lack of space. Bedrooms were lovely and beautiful views across the River Dart.
Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback. We are sorry to hear that you were disappointed with some aspects of the property. This is something that we can pass on for consideration. We do hope that this hasn't put you off visiting our beautiful town in the future. Property Owner
"Great location for everything."
Great views of the river from the bedrooms and the patio. Couple of things to make the place great would be TVs in the bedrooms and a more comfortable sofa.
"I think the lounge area needs a rethink on the furniture, in my opinion the chairs & coffee table are too big for the space."
The outdoor space is great but I really think it would be a good idea to screen off next door better than it currently is to give both sides more privacy. The bedrooms are great, love the seating areas and very comfortable.
"Microwave was not working"
Perfectly located cottage with easy access to the town centre and front. Very comfortable beds. The information provided indicated that the carpark was 10 minutes walk away. In actual fact it is only two minutes. However anyone with a mobility challenges would find it very difficult as there are a number of steps. If anyone needs to take two cars, it is possible to book a space for the week at Sainsbury's which we did and only cost £26.
"Very nice property with great views from both front bedrooms our second stay in last few months and will definitely be returning!"
"Very good property clean and well equipped with great views."
Have already booked it again!!!
"We had a really enjoyable time at the cottage, despite the miserable weather."
The cottage had all equipment and utensils necessary (a less heavy frying pan would have made cooking a little easier
"The situation of the cottage was excellent with splendid views across Dartmouth and the river."
Altogether a very relaxing holiday.
"Lovely base for the family."
Fantastic views and comfy beds. Kitchen is a little tight when cooking as is the seating area. Accommodation was clean and easy to find. Would book again.
"Wonderful location with amazing views and despite a few niggles we loved it!"
It should be emphasised that access is extremely limited by car-it's a very very narrow road and we really had to squeeze our car down it! Parking in Dartmouth is such a problem I'm sorry to say-one day my husband drove round for 90 minutes and ended up having to park out of Town! The cottage has two really lovely rooms and bathrooms both excellent but the bedroom on the lower floor plus the lounge/dining area need some tlc and reconfiguring! It wasn't really possible for us to all sit comfortably as the sofa/chair/table in lounge area is much too big for the space! The cleanliness level was disappointing in some areas-some parts really clean but very grubby worktops/banisters/doors and kitchen cupboards which I cleaned myself on arrival! Bathrooms and bedrooms very clean.
"Old converted pub, with excellent views of the river."
All finished to high quality. Extremely comfortable and welcoming.
"The upstairs was of a very good standard but the living area and kitchen let the cottage down, did not encourage you to use this area."
Found two large slugs next to washing machine one morning very off putting.
"Great cottage it had a home from home feeling, ideal position, every thing we needed for a relaxing weekend away with friends."
"Nice cottage with good views from the master bedroom bed!"
Kept well and nice and cosy this winter, only downside was cold lounge and kitchen.
"Only lacking of onsite parking let's the cottage down but it was only around the corner so no real complaint"
"Welcoming house, comfortable beds but really find sofas and chairs in living area uncomfortable and end up using plastic garden chairs !"
Need changing really.
"Really lovely cottage, with great views over Dartmouth and the esturay towards Kingswear."
Kitchen very well equipped with the whole house being spotless.

About the location
Totnes 12 miles.
Dartmouth lies on the banks of the beautiful River Dart estuary in the popular and picturesque South Hams area of South Devon. Located within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and close to the coast, Dartmouth is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Devon. It offers a stunning waterfront, ancient narrow streets lined with boutique shops, restaurants and art galleries plus many local events such as the annual Dart Music Festival and the Port of Dartmouth Royal Regatta, along with the Dartmouth Food Festival held every October. There are many interesting cycling and walking routes around Dartmouth, including the South West Coast Path, the Dart Valley Trail and plenty of quiet country lanes. A trip on the Dartmouth Steam Railway through picturesque countryside to Paignton is a must, and so is a boat trip across to Kingswear and on to Brixham, a pretty little harbour town. For those seeking some beach activities, there is a wide choice in the South Hams area such as Blue Flag Award winner Blackpool Sands, and Slapton Sands, both extremely popular and just a stone's throw from Dartmouth. A relaxing location in South Devon.
