  • "On arrival we noticed the downstairs smelt damp but once upstairs we couldn’t smell it."

Sofa’s were ok but too small for 4 people to share. The shower was powerful and towels were nice and big. The kitchen had everything you needed. The outside in closed garden was nice but we found the first big of decking could be dangerous with children as it isn’t fenced off at all but there is a gate in the other part which makes that secure. Overall we had a lovely stay and we would definitely return.

  • "The property was spotlessly clean and very well equipped."

A welcome pack would of been a nice touch as we have had this with every other holiday company we have used in the past. We would definitely recommend this property.

  • "The Hideaway is a lovely property, very convenient for town and parking in the main car park not a problem as we tend not to drive when staying in Dartmouth."

The beds are super comfy and the shower nearly knocks you over it’s so powerful. The garden is probably the best part, as we used it had sun all day, and having a table and chairs out there was great, as inside isn’t really conducive for eating in. Being 3 floors the Hideaway isn’t really suitable for the elderly or infirm but we took my mum and aunt 77 and 85 and managed due to there being a bedroom and bathroom on the bottom floor. They were able to rest up downstairs before making the climb to the lounge. We took a spare kettle so they could make themselves a cuppa without the need to come upstairs first. A small step would have been helpful in the bathroom as they couldn’t actually get in the bath, to use it or the over bath shower, they managed with the sink. All in all a very stay in a nice property, we would stay again.

  • "Lovely property, good standard of accommodation, fantastic location, parking permit ideal."

Goodies appreciated. Nice to have washing up liquid and dishwasher tablets in the kitchen. Good outside seating areas. Only downside for us was the bed was slightly soft, a mattress topper would have been nice, but that is only our opinion. Would definitely recommend.

Will definitely recommend the home to other friends and family. There were many pubs that we highly recommend but the ones that come to mind are the cherub inn, the seven stars, the royal castle hotel and the floating bridge. All excellent, the food at the seven stars and floating bridge was amazing and definitely worth a try. Thank you for the amazing holiday.

  • "We loved our stay at the Hideaway."

Lovely clean cottage in a little peaceful street very close to everything you could wish for in Dartmouth- the harbour, lots of places to eat & drink & shops. Dartmouth is very dog friendly. Nice enclosed garden with seating area . I will warn any light sleepers that the seagulls are up very early in the morning , so if you are sleeping in the main bedroom, you may want to bring some earplugs . Sykes cottages were great too & made everything easy . We appreciated the welcome bottle of red wine & crisps too , thank you ☺️ . Would definitely recommend & will return.

  • "Fantastic location and immaculately clean cottage."

For the two of us (and pur dog) it was perfect for 4 adults living space would have been cramped. Parking permit was great bonus, only 5 minute walk away but could unload car with luggage before parking. Thank you for the welcome pack. A recommendations/ideas book would have been good. Heat sensor kept going off first evening while cooking.

  • "Had a lovely weekend stay in The Hideaway, spotlessly clean and well maintained."

Will consider staying again on one of our many visits to Dartmouth. Only one criticism, the sofas are the most uncomfortable things I've ever tried to sit in.

  • "Well impressed with this property."

A lot of thought has gone into the furnishings in the house even down to lovely fragrances in each room. Restaurants, shops and many more things are right on the doorstep. Very cosy and welcoming will be returning.

  • "Another holiday returning to Dartmouth."

Very clean property. Beds very comfortable. Everything you needed in the kitchen. Lovely garden.. just wish the weather would have been nice so we could use it. All secure so the dog could not escape. Only feedback is the central heating. Although July, the weather wasn’t the best for us during our stay and one day we were very cold and wet after a day out in the rain! We couldn’t find any instructions on how to use the nest attached to the boiler for the heating and the thermostat by the tv wasn’t working/wouldn’t switch on. Other than that would definitely stay again.

Thank you for you comments, we were sorry to hear that you couldn't control the heating, but we have checked this now and all is working as it should be. We hope we can welcome you back to the area again soon. Property Owner

We could have spent the entire week without using the car . The parking permit was a real plus Our two young Westies loved the sheltered secure garden and we liked it for Breakfast, Dinner and enjoy img the sun as it was a proper sun trap.

A few issues. Light sockets near bed in twin room don't work. The towel rail in bathroom doesn't work so it was cold. Mirror in bathroom almost falling off the wall. No small ovenproof dishes to cook with. Beds very comfortable with clean fresh bedding. Good location to harbour and town.

The parking permit was a bonus. We used our car only once during our stay and walked or used the ferry and the steam train instead.

  • "Hideaway was lovely, decorated to a high standard."

Everything we needed was there, information and walks in the area, much appreciated. Ample seating in the multi level rear garden. The car parking permit is a real bonus, with the car park being so close to hand, a few minutes walk away. The town with it’s shops/bars/restaurants on your doorstep. If I was being really picky, the radiators in the bathrooms have a covering of rust on the rungs. Also, the door to the decking from the kitchen has a large gap when it’s shut that you can see through it, just thinking about when it’s cold outside there could be a strong draught through the gap. These 2 points are observations and not criticisms. All in all, a very nice place to be.

Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback. It really does help us. So pleased you liked our little house and Dartmouth. We will certainly be looking at the radiator and the door. If we can address between guests - we will. Property Owner

  • "On the plus side the central location in Dartmouth is excellent (with an M&S food store an easy walk away!"

), the house is well decorated and presented, both bathrooms have good quality modern fittings and the terraced garden is well cared for with plenty of comfortable seating. For anyone with mobility problems (or a large dog) the steps up to the front door and the two flights of stairs inside might be a problem as the stairs are quite steep with a narrow tread. This is more difficult because the kitchen/main living room is on the first floor and the toilets are on the ground and top floor so you do need to go up and down quite a lot. We also reported a missing upper spray arm in the dishwasher which will hopefully now be fixed but meant short wash cycles didn't clean too well - perhaps why we found dirty cutlery in the cutlery drawer when we arrived. The car parking pr is not far away and, as the lane the cottage is in is pretty quiet, unloading and loading luggage proved easy enough.

  • "A great little house in a great location."

Perfect for our family of 4. Lots of useful extras like crabbing nets which the kids used, retractable washing line and a little welcome hamper which was a lovely touch. One real benefit here which can be overlooked is the ease of loading and unloading directly outside on a quiet road before parking a few minutes away, a plus for Dartmouth as this can often be a stressful start or end to a visit! We met the lovely owners as we left and they clearly care very much about their guests and have thought very carefully about how to make their property truly welcoming. Thank you!
