  • "Fabulous well situated cottage."

Beautiful views of the coast as we walked down into Dartmouth along the cliffs. Cottage well equipped and the welcome pack of fresh produce was very welcome. Beds and linen very comfortable good powerful shower. Lovely well kept garden front and back. Comfortable garden furniture on patio. Good 2/3 car parking at back of property . Owner called on us to check we had everything we needed and said they were available if we needed them as they lived close by. Wonderfully chilled couple of nights in this gorgeous coastal cottage highly recommend.

  • "An amazing property in a fabulous location."

From the moment we walked in and saw home gown veg, eggs and even sausages, we felt at home. The Cottage is spacious, fully equipped and very comfortable throughout. The garden is beautiful to sit in and relax. Parking is easy. We were blessed with fantastic weather all week too which made it all in all an exceptional holiday. We will be back!

  • "We had a great week in Warren Cottage."

It’s a lovely property with immaculate gardens but I have to say that we found the seating very uncomfortable. The home grown produce, eggs , vegetables, and sausages was very welcome. It’s a very quiet spot and apart from the occasional walkers we didn’t see a soul all week. We would have liked to have seen the owners garden which according to other guests are beautiful but maybe we should have arranged this in advance. A washing line or whirly thing would have been useful even though there is a tumble dryer. An upgrade to a smart TV and maybe seat pads for the dining chairs as they are very hard. An excellent area for walking and very close to Dartmouth. I would recommend the park and ride which is 5 minutes away £5 as it’s not always easy to find a parking spot in the town. All in all a lovely place and would thoroughly recommend ( but not for someone with mobility problems like my husband, who wasn’t with us, as there are several steps around the garden which has three gates all of which have steps to the front door and also third bedroom is on the second floor. )

Thanks for the really helpful comments. Seating is tricky. Only a few months ago we replaced both sofas and the armchairs from ones that were much lower and squidgy to slightly firmer and more upright to address previous comments that requested this. We have tried very hard to find a middle ground that is comfortable for most. A guided tour of the gardens is offered to anyone who stays. Just email the request and we can normally organise it. A Smart TV and garden washing line are in the pipeline for installation this autumn. Seat pads for the dining room chairs will be left in the under stairs cupboard. We really want everyone to enjoy staying at Little Dartmouth so the feedback is very useful - thank you. Property Owner

  • "We had a great week at Warren Cottage - the location of the property is perfect for coastal walks into Dartmouth, and we had a fascinating tour of the beautiful estate with the head gardener."

The welcome pack of fresh eggs and veg was a nice extra touch, and the house itself was well furnished with some lovely artwork, plenty of books to dip into and games for the garden.

  • "This is a superb cottage in a sublime location."

So relaxing and comfortable. Handy for coastal walks and getting around south Devon. The owner’s gardens are a delight, providing home-grown produce at its best. The cottage itself is well appointed with good facilities. Would recommend a few more BBQ tools are provided, and the TV upgraded to a ‘smart’ TV for those wet evenings in (we had a few!) Also investment in an EV charger would add enormous value as Hybrid & EVs become the norm. All round, a very enjoyable stay and on our list to return!

thanks for the feedback. all very useful. There are now extra BBQ tools in the outside lean-to. I am exploring Smart TV options. We have 2 EV chargers onsite as we operate electric and hybrid vehicle ourselves but they are not located at the back of Warren Cottage. We could have helped with charging but didn't know you needed one. We have been considering investment in some for cottage guests closer to the cottages but have only been asked once prior to your comment (and they used the onsite chargers). Property Owner

Absolutely loved the cottage and the setting. Took some walks into Dartmouth and to another village close by. We also visited the beach. Loved our tour around the owner’s gardens which was quite inspiring! The cottage is extremely well equipped and has lots of interesting and tasteful furnishings. We were made to feel very welcome and the package of eggs, asparagus and sausages were delicious. Thank you and hopefully we’ll be back sometime in the future x

We love it there. The cottage is well equipped and the gardens are beautiful. Owners were really helpful. Left us veg, eggs and sausages. Had a great time. Location is great as it's right on the coastal path.

  • "I would highly recommend Warren Cottage."

Great location for coastal walks and exploring this part of Devon. The gardens are beautiful and the cottage is very comfortable, well equipped, warm and cosy. (My only negative comment would be that the sofas are very uncomfortable.) I really appreciated the welcome pack of bacon, sausages and fresh eggs. Plus Sally, the owner, came to say hello and check that everything was OK.

A number of guests have commented on this. We listened. We replaced both sofas by Easter 2023. Now much more attractive and comfortable. Thanks for the suggestion. Property Owner

  • "We had an amazing stay at Warren Cottage, the location and garden were beautiful and the cottage itself was very comfortable."

One of our favourite ever holidays. A few little extras would have made the whole place perfect - nothing fancy required, just a washing line and some pegs - we needed somewhere to dry our beach towels and swimming stuff at the end of the day. There weren't all that many plates and bowls and the choice was plastic or bone china, which felt very delicate for everyday family use. We didn't break anything but it was nerve-wracking at meal times. There was also a huge amount of spiders - must be well over 100. If the cleaners aren't getting rid of these during the end of stay clean, a spider catching device (we have one at home, like a pair of scissors with little cups on the end) would have really been appreciated.

It didn’t matter for us as we had our own but just for reference this facility doesn’t work & needs to be addressed. Also I think it should be made clear that the coastal path is a challenging & long walk & not really for pushchairs We like to walk so it was ok for us but maybe a challenge for some.

  • "It’s our second time at Warren cottage , which was very well presented and gardens in excellent condition."

The cottage sleeps 6 and very surprised that there were only 6 plates, bowls, glasses. We rent 3/4 times each year, with other companies and always plenty of the above to avoid washing up after every meal. Wi-Fi didn’t work until the 6th day, which caused a few problems. Rectified following contact with Owners who were very helpful. Opportunity for renters to view the Owners private gardens, which are the finest we have ever walked through, just a wonderful array of plants, shrubs, trees, designed and created with spectacular effect.

I completely agree: Only 6 bowls , plates etc feels completely inadequate. I will make sure we have much more in future. It seems an obvious and good suggestion that I should have thought about. Thank you. The WiFi is normally reliable but we also have a communications engineer who supports all the buildings at Little Dartmouth just in case, so I am sorry it was up to scratch for you visit. I will make sure our direct contact details are more prominent for any future issues. Finally….thank you for the compliments about the garden. It is a labour of love but much enjoyed by everyone. See you next time. Kind regards, S Property Owner

Shame the bathroom didn't have a shower or hand held shower. Were expecting 'farm noises' but didn't get those - instead half a day's worth of over zealous grass mowing around the area (driver of mower had ear defenders). House at the end of the terrace being done up so some building type noise (not as bad as it could have been though!). Will think again about renting a property that is ' attached'. The best bits.... Wonderful surprise on arrival with flowers, asparagus and eggs and note from the owner -thank you. Beautiful spot and amazing walks particularly down to Dartmouth Castle. Wonderful views. Beautiful garden and delightful decor and rooms. High end cooking pots and asked a friend to bring mugs with her as they joined us later. Office staff very helpful when I booked and later asked for high chair, cot and bbq.

Thank you for your valued feedback and we’re very glad you enjoyed your stay at our cottage. Following your comments we’ve now provided additional mugs, serving dishes, and extra crockery. Warren Cottage is situated on the edge of a working farm with sheep, cows, pigs and chickens, we’re sorry you didn’t get to meet any of our friendly neighbours. The cottage is at the end of a row of three and the building works are now complete on our neighbouring property, Willow Cottage, which will be available to let later this summer. Thank you again for your comments. Best wishes, The Team at LD Property Owner

Recommend whoever manage the cottage on behalf of the owners to review the following comments; 1) check cleanliness of cooking equipment prior to new arrivals; whisk, pan and coffee pot all had remnants left on them and had to be re-cleaned 2) replace frying pan all together - it's not fit for purpose 3) we sensed that there had been a gap in people staying at the cottage prior to our holiday, the sheets in the first floor double were stale in smell and there were dead insects by windows Overall a nice place, great location but felt the above needs to be shared for future use
