    Ideally placed for the beach and local amenities with an excellent bakery on your doorstep. We would recommend this convenient flat to anyone wanting to holiday in this lovely area of Devon.

  • "I know if we had reported it to David he would have done something about it but the shower didn't work and the kitchen light didn't work."

    We chose not to report these matters while we were there because we just wanted a couple of days away in the peace and quiet. We had gone away for personal reasons and just wanted to be on our own

    it was within easy walking distance to all pubs and shops and sea front. the apartment had everything you needed for you to use including washing machine the only negative was the beds were uncomfortable mattresses were to soft ,but it didn't stop us sleeping or having a good holiday 5/6/21 to 12/6/21

  • "The bed was too soft , the sofa was the most uncomfortable we have ever sat on, probably because it had no springs being a sofa bed."

    Tne lighting in the kitchen was poor and there was no cooker fan or expel air so thaIt t the fire alarm went of even using the toaster.It was advertised as having wifi available in the local club house next door, when we enquired about this they knew nothing about it. The flat was very clean , but we felt not up to the standard we have come to expect from Sykes

  • "We enjoyed our stay at Devondale which was a trip down memory lane for us."

    Great location for access to The Warren, and the recess under the stairwell allowed us to keep my wife's mobility scooter under cover, and not have to break it down to store in the car each day. Drawbacks The bed is particularly springy and soft. The settee is very deep and not too comfortable if you are not tall. For people who have difficulty walking the threshold step is not very wide to be able to stand on it to step down into the stairwell.

    Kitchen well equipped even including a washing machine. Booking.com listing said that there was no parking available but in fact it was. Free wifi was only available in a club house which we didn't try, we ended up paying for a 5 day BT connection. Worth more than we payed.

Dartmoor 13 miles; Exeter 11 miles; Teignmouth 5 miles; Dawlish 2 miles.

A couple of miles north east of the town of Dawlish is Dawlish Warren, a mile-long sand beach at the mouth of the River Exe on the stretch of south Devon coastline known as the English Riviera. Dawlish Warren has a selection of shops selling essentials, a golf course and a 55-acre nature reserve, an area of international importance for wildlife, and a roosting site for huge numbers of wading birds and wildfowl that winter on the estuary. The Nature Reserve is also home to more than 450 species of flowering plants including the rare Warren or Sand Crocus. Guided tours around the Reserve are available in the summer season. The beach at Dawlish Warren is a sandy Blue Flag beach backed by sand dunes and small lakes and stretches for miles to reach the Exe Estuary in one direction and Dawlish town in the other. A safe beach, lifeguarded in summer, provides a perfect place for seaside fun, and has many free, open-air events, children's entertainers and spectacular firework and air displays during the summer season. Dawlish Warren has a railway station on the Exeter to Newton Abbot line, one of the most scenic railway journeys in the country. Nearby there is much to occupy the visitor along the English Riviera coastline including Paignton Zoo, the Dartmouth Steam Railway, the picturesque fishing harbour of Brixham and the long pier and promenade at Teignmouth. A typically English seaside resort, great for family holidays at any time of year.
