  • "The apartment was spotlessly clean."

It was very spacious and was very convenient for the station-which we used several times. A really relaxing time.

  • "The apartment was exactly as described."

Spotlessly clean and very well appointed with its facilities. There were good and bad points which have been detailed before in previous feedback. 1. The mattress in the double bed was very, very lumpy and we could feel the springs, my husband said we should have contacted the manager and requested a new/different one but I said we could manage for the period, of we had booked 2 weeks we would have. 2. Upon arrival no washing up liquid or soap, I had read previous reviews and taken some but other customers would have had to go out and get some probably after a long journey. Everything was spotless beds/towels etc, but only 1 tea towel to dry dishes, unhygienic during hot weather. 3. Usually there is a folder with handouts relating to places/beaches/historic places and restaurants etc. There was no such folder and for people new to the Dawlish area would be very useful. Enough of our moans, we thoroughly enjoyed the apartment, the location and outside facilities. We would use this facility again, hopefully with the mattress being replaced.

  • "We had a lovely time, the apartment was very large and comfortable, apart from the bed."

My wife suffers from spine problems and the sprung mattress she found uncomfortable. The apartment was very clean and well appointed. The wi-fi was a bit hit and miss though, could only get a signal on my laptop on the balcony. I loved the view of the railway and all amenities were close by. The walk into Dawlish along side the sea and railway was outstanding. The Nature Reserve was very peaceful with so many different birds. Trying to work out when we can go again!!!

  • "The apartment was excellent, being clean and comfortable, The beds were on the firm side, whereas I am used to something softer, but otherwise good."

The en-suite bathroom was a boon and bathrooms excellent. The location is perfect, being virtually next to the railway and bus service, and close to the beach and coastal footpath. The kitchen was fully equipped and my only adverse comment is that although linen was provided there was no soap or washing-up liquid and we had to wait till the next day to buy some. It would have been useful if this was stated on the website.

  • "The apartment was beautiful and in a really good position for all amenities and Howard, (the Manager/Owner was really helpful)."

There was no need to use our own transport if we wanted to go anywhere as the bus stop is at the end of the road with a day rider ticket costing £5.00 and the train station is a few yards further on with regular trains to Exeter, Teignmouth, Newton Abbot and Torquay. As we are both in our 70's we really appreciated the fact that there were deck chairs for hire at £3.00 per day on the Warren so that we could sit comfortably overlooking the beach without getting sand over everything. The local bars, shops and take-a-ways are also a few yards from the apartment, so all in all, a brilliant relaxing holiday which hopefully, we will be able to return to next ear

  • "The apartment was lovely."

Larger than expected, light and modern. There were only a couple of points that would have made our stay perfect. The mattresses on all the beds were lumpy and uncomfortable, to the point that our son took to sleeping on the sofa. Also, just providing 4 pieces of everything in the kitchen meant we were washing up all the time (as there was no dishwasher) - defeats the point of a holiday. There was also no storage for food, other than the fridge and freezer. We would return to this location and make allowances for the above.

About the location

DAWLISH WARREN

Dartmoor 13 miles; Exeter 11 miles; Teignmouth 5 miles; Dawlish 2 miles.

A couple of miles north east of the town of Dawlish is Dawlish Warren, a mile-long sand beach at the mouth of the River Exe on the stretch of south Devon coastline known as the English Riviera. Dawlish Warren has a selection of shops selling essentials, a golf course and a 55-acre nature reserve, an area of international importance for wildlife, and a roosting site for huge numbers of wading birds and wildfowl that winter on the estuary. The Nature Reserve is also home to more than 450 species of flowering plants including the rare Warren or Sand Crocus. Guided tours around the Reserve are available in the summer season. The beach at Dawlish Warren is a sandy Blue Flag beach backed by sand dunes and small lakes and stretches for miles to reach the Exe Estuary in one direction and Dawlish town in the other. A safe beach, lifeguarded in summer, provides a perfect place for seaside fun, and has many free, open-air events, children's entertainers and spectacular firework and air displays during the summer season. Dawlish Warren has a railway station on the Exeter to Newton Abbot line, one of the most scenic railway journeys in the country. Nearby there is much to occupy the visitor along the English Riviera coastline including Paignton Zoo, the Dartmouth Steam Railway, the picturesque fishing harbour of Brixham and the long pier and promenade at Teignmouth. A typically English seaside resort, great for family holidays at any time of year.
