  • "Close to wonderful walks along the beach, nice and quiet this time of year, in February."

  • "Lovely apartment: very generously proportioned living/dining room/kitchen."

Comfy sofas. Nice little balcony which you can just see some of the sea from. Good sized main double bedroom. Clean and all the equipment you need. So useful being so close to the train station. Just 15-20 minutes to Exeter St Thomas which is just a 5-10 min walk to the Quay, and 25 minutes to Exeter Central for £3.80 return with a Devon & Cornwall railcard. So handy: no hassle with parking and fighting the traffic. My only negatives are the single bed mattresses are as comfortable as granite: bringing your own soft mattress toppers is a necessity if you want to sleep! The double bed is perfectly comfortable though! And the hallway light timer doesn’t quite get you to the top of the stairs. I note this hasn’t been adjusted from previous visitors’ comments. But all round I’d be perfectly happy to stay here again. So conveniently placed near the coastal paths and cycle paths. You can cycle from Dawlish Warren to Exeter to Exmouth to Budleigh Salterton almost entirely on cycle paths. About 23 miles each way. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay here. Thank you.

  • "Spacious, clean, basic apartment with a great location near the coast and train station."

We enjoyed our stay and would come back. * The single beds offered no comfort and are ready for new mattresses. * The light in the stairwell needs a longer time as it goes off 1/2 way up the stairs, not great in November when it’s dark.( bring a torch) * The directions just need:- once at Dawlish Warren the Redrock apartments are located down the Bridleway to the right of the cycle hire car park. Enjoyed our stay, thank you.

  • "Lovely apartment and location just where we wanted to be."

Just a few points: It would have been nice to have soaps in the en-suite and bathroom (I only brought one), also a warning to bring fairy liquid as so glad I did for pot washing. I know it's a small detail but it's been a long time since I needed to do this for a self catering holiday! The open plan living kitchen floor wasn't cleaned in all areas as my bare feet were black within a few minutes of unpacking (I would have been happy to do this but no cleaning products were available in the apartment). Note to the owner that the push light at the bottom of the stairs to go to our apartment needs adjusting for longer as it goes off within the last few steps (nearly fell) and total blackness until you feel for the top one for the light to see the door to unlock. Having said that, we had a great time and were able to take the train on a couple of days out as it was yards to walk to the platform! Thank you for a lovely stay - recommend cream tea at the Mill Tea Rooms in Dawlish!

  • "Warmly welcomed by Howard on arrival day."

Apartment was ready ahead of schedule, which is a bonus. Howard was very knowledgeable and showed us everything we'd need for our stay. Cleanliness of location was a high standard with clean and fresh linen and towels provided. Bonus with having an ensuite as we have 2 teenagers who need lots of bathroom time! Great location.. close to all amenities in Dawlish Warren. Definitely come back to stay here. Thank you!

About the location

DAWLISH WARREN

Dartmoor 13 miles; Exeter 11 miles; Teignmouth 5 miles; Dawlish 2 miles.

A couple of miles north east of the town of Dawlish is Dawlish Warren, a mile-long sand beach at the mouth of the River Exe on the stretch of south Devon coastline known as the English Riviera. Dawlish Warren has a selection of shops selling essentials, a golf course and a 55-acre nature reserve, an area of international importance for wildlife, and a roosting site for huge numbers of wading birds and wildfowl that winter on the estuary. The Nature Reserve is also home to more than 450 species of flowering plants including the rare Warren or Sand Crocus. Guided tours around the Reserve are available in the summer season. The beach at Dawlish Warren is a sandy Blue Flag beach backed by sand dunes and small lakes and stretches for miles to reach the Exe Estuary in one direction and Dawlish town in the other. A safe beach, lifeguarded in summer, provides a perfect place for seaside fun, and has many free, open-air events, children's entertainers and spectacular firework and air displays during the summer season. Dawlish Warren has a railway station on the Exeter to Newton Abbot line, one of the most scenic railway journeys in the country. Nearby there is much to occupy the visitor along the English Riviera coastline including Paignton Zoo, the Dartmouth Steam Railway, the picturesque fishing harbour of Brixham and the long pier and promenade at Teignmouth. A typically English seaside resort, great for family holidays at any time of year.
