  • "The property is beautiful and well maintained."

We had a lovely stay Didn’t get to use the hot tub as it was too cold lol But if we stayed there again in the summer, we would definitely be in there.

  • "Brilliant stay."

Would definitely recommend and would definitely stay here again. Only thing I would mention is do not underestimate how long it takes to heat up the hot tub. It was a cool October when we stayed but we just could not manage to get it over luke warm, so we didn’t use it, which seemed like a waste as we have booked based on hot tub. But apart from that, was a beautiful place and would definitely recommend and stay again.

  • "Lovely barn conversion accommodation."

Well equipped and very comfortable. Watching the cows go by was the icing on the cake. Loved the wood burner and hot tub. Would highly recommend and with out a doubt come back. Blackpool sands beach is a must. Thanks for a wonderful stay.

  • "Property was just as advertised."

    - first rate. Best described as entering someone's expensive home. Only criticism was of Sykes who as far as we know, didn't respond to an email we sent concerning a part missing on a shower control. We ended up finding the owner nearby who quickly sorted the problem.

  • "We enjoyed our stay here, and would recommend it to anyone who’s considering staying here too."

The barn was well designed and spacious, and well equipped. The owner was friendly and helpful, as was the maintenance guy. Great location, and we really enjoyed seeing the workings of the farm with the cows going quietly by for milking and the farmer going back and forth making the most of the good weather for cutting his haylage. We couldn’t find bin liners to put our bedding and towels in (as requested in handbook) but left them in neat piles in each bedroom. We found the barn a brilliant place to stay fora multi-generational family with a young baby. Maybe next time we’ll make use of the hot tub too!

I have a little boy and the joys of his Mornings and evenings was watching the cows walk past the house it’s the little things You will never get to see anywhere else can’t wait for the next visit. Highly recommend

  • "We stayed at the property the week after the heatwave in August."

Three adults (Mum, Dad, Father in Law) and our daughter. The property was great, plenty of indoor and outdoor space, quiet location - we weren’t disturbed at all by the farming activities. Loved the off grid approach with solar energy/battery electric supply, car charging point, heat exchanger etc. The property is well equipped with everything we needed for a great holiday. Would love to return.

  • "An absolutely beautiful place to stay for your holidays."

Set in a wonderful location close to the lovely village of Dittisham and only 10mins away from Dartmouth. This property has been designed and built to a very high standard and is suitable to either families or a group of friends on a break together. It is very well appointed and has everything you need for a break away. It’s location adjacent to a dairy farm immerses you into country living and give younger children an opportunity to see the countryside literally outside the front door. We had a lovely break and can’t wait to come back.

  • "This was such a beautiful house in a beautiful rural location."

The house itself had everything we could possibly need, it was extremely well kitted out and was really comfortable. There is a working farm right next door which my daughter absolutely loved - seeing the cows come back and forth multiple times a day. We absolutely would love to come and stay at The Barns again. (The only small note would be to add some instructions on how to work the AC/heater in the booklet - we just could not figure it out and were too hot!). But other than that our stay was perfect.

Beds, linen and kitchen, again, of excellent quality. We had a very comfortable stay and would certainly recommend this holiday home.

  • "A beautiful place to stay."

Very tastefully done with no expense spared. Not sure the hot tub is necessary but a heated pool would be the icing on the cake!

  • "Absolutely fantastic property."

Very comfortable. Just a couple of things we would have appreciated; oven gloves and toilet brushes. Also I was told there would be plenty of firewood but actually there was only a small amount. We ended up buying about £50's worth in order to use the hot tub. Would be great if the stone flags could extend to the hot tub because walking on the stone chippings in bare feet wasn't fun! Also perhaps it's best to change the external uplights to downlights to minimise light pollution as per the owner's request. Finally we could figure out how to open the second gate next to the hot tub in order to park a second car. Eventually we figure out that there was a nut/bolt underneath the gate securing it. Would be great if there was a notice to explain this. Thanks

  • "We had a lovely weekend in the Barns @ Downton."

Everything was perfect and the barns are beautifully done and very well equipped, with plenty of space. We had a rainy weather weekend but it didn’t matter at all, as we were very happy to spend time inside - cooking in the large kitchen and sitting around the log burning stove. Would highly recommend this fantastic house in a great location!
