    Thank you for your feedback which we have discussed with the housekeeper and she advised that a welcome pack of tea, coffee, sugar, milk and Tunnocks Teacakes are left for guests. They do not usually leave dishwasher tablets or washing pods due to the property being self catering, however they will now leave 1 of each in future. They do leave washing up liquid and a toilet roll is always left. We are pleased to hear you had an otherwise comfortable stay. Property Owner

The property

Surrounded by stunning scenery, in the picture perfect village of Drewsteignton, Old Chapel makes a wonderful base for families and friends to come together and explore the beauty of Dartmoor National Park.

This desirable area of Devon is ideal for those seeking peaceful relaxation amid pristine countryside.

With a reverse level layout, enter on the first floor to a lofty open plan living space, with wooden floors, raftered ceilings and a roaring woodburning stove.

Take a seat on the comfy sofas and settle down with a good book or a classic film on the smart TV.

In the kitchen you will find an impressive red Range style cooker and everything you'll need whilst on holiday to cater for your group.

The large dining table provides the perfect place to enjoy a home-cooked meal together and some quality family time.

When the evening draws to a close, choose from three pretty ground floor bedrooms, one with a kingsize bed, and two twin rooms.

All are serviced by a ground-floor bathroom with a freestanding bath and separate shower.

Enjoy summertime alfresco meals in the courtyard garden before heading out to explore the local area.

Drewsteignton enjoys a range of good pubs nearby and some excellent eateries.

After an afternoon exploring Castle Drogo and its extensive gardens, rambling in the National Park or walking nearby Teign Gorge, why not take an evening meal by the river or in the nearby town of Chagford, where you'll find quaint shops and boutiques.

Further afield, the cathedral city of Exeter offers plenty of retail therapy and family-friendly attractions, whilst the golden sandy beaches of the south coast can be reached with a short drive.

Old Chapel is a wonderful choice for a country getaway to glorious Devon.

About the location


Drewsteignton sits high above the River Teign as it meanders through a spectacular steep wooded Teign Gorge. It is a chocolate box village with a cluster of ancient cob and thatched cottages surrounding a square, complete with shop, ancient church, restaurant and very pretty pub.
