  • "Overall the cottage was lovely and well equipped for a party of our size."

It was decorated beautifully and had good sized communal areas that were comfortably furnished. Really pleased with the level of wood available for the wood burner and that there were fire-lighters, kindling and matches provided. As we were made aware a few days before our trip, we had was the inconvenience we had of the shower not working in the master bedroom en-suite but we appreciated the compensation received. We did find it difficult to control the water temperature in the shower in the family bathroom, it would suddenly change part way through the shower to luke warm or very hot. The flush on the toilet in the master bedroom en-suite was a bit temperamental. We enjoyed the use of the golf club facilities and the beautiful setting. I am not sure if the cottage is owned by the golf club, if so I would also feedback that as an avid walker, it would have been nice to be able to have access to footpaths directly from the cottage as the golf course was out of bounds to walkers and the dog walking path was very short. Overall a lovely stay with a beautiful well equipped cottage. Thank you.

  • "A lovely, clean, airy, light, well equipped cottage."

Those staying need to consider the distance from the car park to the cottage which wasn’t an issue for us as lots of us staying to help bring our things to the house but if you have one or more small children & all their paraphernalia it may be a bind especially if it’s raining. Lovely being able to use the pool area at the hotel too.

  • "We have just returned from a week in Dartmouth, and had a fabulous time."

The property is lovely, well situated with great views and nearby spa, swimming pool, gym and golf facilities. We had 7 adults and 2 babies, sharing 4 double bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. The property has excellent facilities, with quality furniture and fittings (mostly new John Lewis items), lots of extras such as tennis rackets (for use on the nearby courts), high chair, stair gate, travel cot, kids toys (fishing nets, crab lines, bucket & spade) etc. The kitchen is equipped with one under counter fridge, one under counter freezer, and a bottle/drinks fridge in the utility, a washer dryer, dishwasher, oven/hob, and Nespresso coffee machine. I had read some reviews regarding the size of the fridge, but we didn't think this was an issue, shopping every other day at the nearby Sainsburys supermarket. There is a charcoal BBQ, with coal and lighters supplied, along with an internal log burner and logs. The property is a short walk to the car park. Again some reviews have criticised this, but we did not experience any problems. I would suggest that people booking this property should bring wheeled suitcases, and if you have (or can borrow) a folding festival trolley (as we did), this would make life a lot easier (a suggestion for the owners perhaps?). Overall, we really enjoyed our week and hope to return at some point in the future.

  • "The cottage was in a beautiful setting and very convenient for the park and ride into Dartmouth."

The spa facilities were very good for our daughter and her family. The downside was unloading and reloading at the end of our week. Although stating that there would be an up hill climb to the cottage it really was very difficult with all the stuff that you need for a week. The trolley provided was really not adequate for this job and maybe the owner could consider changing this to something more suitable. Also the fridge in the kitchen was not big enough considering the cottage slept 8. Luckily there was a drinks fridge which was great but not everyone goes out for all meals and may need to stock up on food. Having said all that we had a really lovely week in a very lovely part of the country.

We are a multigenerational family group and we’re celebrating a big birthday and the care and attention to detail made the property a home from home. The location was convenient and the facilities at the golf club appreciated.

It’s like home from home. Clean, tidy and everything you need even down to games & a play station. Only criticism is the water pressure in the showers, but that didn’t spoil our time here.

The Wi-Fi code that had been displayed in our cottage was incorrect andI had to contact Sykes to contact the owner for the correct Wi-Fi code , 4 phone calls took time as I had no signal. The shower upstairs had a notice in it saying not to use it was not working so I mentioned this to you and you came back later saying there was discussions with the brand maker as it was under repair. So we shared with my grandson downstairs his shower . I eventually got a message day before we left that the shower was fine and the notice was a mistake. Due to the lovely weather we all wanted to sit in the garden and the balcony which I cleaned first brushing and vacuuming all the cobwebs off the balcony rails staircase seats etc it was covered. Hope all this helps it does sound negative but it was a lovely house and we had a lovely holiday

Was good to have use of the Golf Club pool - though shame we were not allowed to use the spa towels. Ended up with a lot of wet towels at home! Loved the layout and really worked for our set-up of 2 families staying together. Parking wasn’t an issue and was able to pre-arrange Sainsburys food delivery too. Perfect base for exploring the area but also flopping at home and relaxing.

it is all UP. There is a long slope or steps, in the icy weather that we had the slope was slippery. The owners do supply a trolly, but you need to get to the house first , and it’s still heavy and difficult.

Very well equipped for 8. We loved using the swimming pool every day, the golf course and enjoyed playing some of the board games provided in the cottage. Great location. Dartmouth, Totnes and Torquay were all good. We would have given 10 out of 10 but we all struggled with the very firm beds. A point to note is that the car park is a long way from the cottage so it took many trips to unload and load the car. If we were going to Dartmouth again, we would definitely stay at Courtyard Cottage and would recommend it to family and friends, especially those who would love the golf course, the pool and the spa.

The house itself has everything you need which added to our stay being so relaxing. The view from the cottage is absolutely breathtaking too. It’s a really good base as it’s not far from Dartmouth and around 30 minutes from Paignton. The wifi is pretty poor if that’s something you want on holiday and the living area and upstairs bedroom floors were VERY creaky which meant whoever was sleeping downstairs would be able to hear every movement. Otherwise it was pretty perfect.

Sooo well equipped with absolutely everything you could want, all of a high quality and extras you didn’t even know you might need, (like the little nightlight plugs in every bedroom.) Super comfy beds too. We had a wonderful stay. A swim in the pool was a great way to start the day and then lots of exploring. With so much to do nearby there was no need to travel too far. Parking was easy in Dartmouth although there was a Park and Ride if it had been too busy. Convenient location for the supermarket too. We would definitely recommend this cottage to other people!! 5 star ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️!!

We were a group of eight aged 55-70 Access to the tennis court was a real bonus and it’s a great surface to play on in all weathers. The Spa was an added bonus too. We had to drive to get anywhere but it was well worth it. We ate in the hotel one night and the food was great. Highly recommend a visit to Brixham Rockfish restaurant but use the park and ride 3 miles out of Brixham as parking in the town is limited. The Round robin trip and steam train experience was great. Also must recommend the Pig and Whistle pub the food was 10 out of 10 and excellent value. Overall a lovely place to stay with everything you need for a relaxing holiday.

The appliances were of an excellent standard and a separate drinks fridge was a bonus. The property is spacious and the beds were really comfy. Being able to use the swimming facilities and gym in the hotel across the car park was great. Under 16s were limited to 8.30 to 10am and 5pm to 6.30pm though. It is situated in lovely grounds and easy to get to various places easily. If going into Dartmouth I would recommend the park and ride as the parking is limited. Very cheap. £5 for a car load. The use of facilities and restaurant in the adjacent hotel were the factors that swayed us towards this particular property - and we weren't disappointed. Sky TV, lots of games, books and videos (even a playstation !). The drinks cooler was very useful and there is a BBQ with coals ready to use and logs for the wood burner. There is a tennis court close to the cottage which we really enjoyed and the facilities of the Best Western hotel are also available to use (really useful, we had a swim in the pool, used the spa and gym and had excellent food in the restaurant as well, Sunday lunch is really good). Courtyard Cottage is part of a small "hamlet" of holiday cottages located next to the Dartmouth Hotel, Golf Club & Spa. It is beautifully decorated and equipped and as the main living room is on the the upper floor, there are wonderful views out of the Devonshire countryside. Particularly welcome was the wine fridge and the satellite TV with Sky Sports!!. The whole cottage felt spacious throughout with plenty of room for us all to sit and chat. After a very comfortable nights sleep, the lads had a round of golf on the adjacent golf course, whilst the ladies took advantage of the spa at the the hotel. The golf course is one of the nicest I have played with a challenging but fair design and more of those beautiful Devonshire views. The ladies were equally complimentary about the spa treatments. There are many places to visit nearby. We spent a day in Dartmouth and could have spent two. There are also many place to eat, catering for all tastes and budgets. I can especially recommend "Rock Fish" - fish and chips with a twist! All in all we had a wonderful 4 nights at Courtyard Cottage and have no hesitation in giving 5 stars

The pictures looked nice before we arrived but seeing it in the flesh was really impressive. The cottage is beautifully furnished. A truly lovely place to stay. Not only was it wonderfully decorated, the little extras available made a real difference. A big BBQ with loads of charcoal ready to use, loads of wood for the log burner (although it was too hot to put the fire on), even tennis rackets and balls to use on the tennis court. Just a short walk to the nice spa in the country club with pool, sauna, Jacuzzi. The restaurant in the hotel is good too. I thought it was going to be nice but it surpassed my expectations.
