  • "Wonderful break relaxing and peaceful."

Cottage furnishing its self may have been seen as old fashion but that made it comfy, but still was equipped with everything you could want and more. Hot tub was fantastic. And the welcome pack was incredible full english plus. bread jam butter beer and cider We will return..

  • "We had a fantastic rest."

The welcome pack was amazing! The furnishings etc were a little tired but we understand it is to have a total makeover in February which will make it perfect. The views were super. The whole experience was just what we needed and we plan to return in the spring.

  • "We had a wonderful time, lovely and clean place, clean hot tub."

Yummy welcome breakfast gift which was an unexpected bonus. We were warm with just the heaters on. It’s location is beautiful and a great base for a lot of places in north Somerset. Only comment that I would make is that the bedrooms could do with a bit of attention (lick of paint and new mattress) However we would definitely go again.

  • "RANCID!!!"

I wouldn't stay here again even if someone paid me to! We had to come home early because the place made us that ill. We've complained about the property as well and were pretty much told by both the owner and Sykes that they weren't bothered and nothing could be done. The chairs are stained with dirt, the grass wasn't cut, we got stared at the whole time we were there by the staff, the place stunk, limited hot water to have a shower/bath, flies everywhere inside the "cottage" and then non-stop noise all day everyday! Honestly guys DO NOT waste your money!

  • "We booked the cottage for a 7 night vacation."

The welcome pack was very good and the hot tub was excellent after a long day exploring the areas. We thought that the cottage was well stocked with facilities and the beds were comfortable. Unfortunately we decided to come home a day early as the wife could not stand to be in the living area The rooms were very drab and need a good overhaul The furniture reminded the wife of a rundown care home and she was unsettled during our stay so much that she didn't want to return to the cottage at the end of the day The location is excellent and the views were very good it's just a shame that the cottage is shabby and run down as with a bit of tlc and attention it has potential

The cottage is in need of a make over the front of the cottage fence was loose the grass wasn’t cut the bed in one room had a big bit of brown foam on top of the mattress and then a topper The taps in the on sweet turned the opposite way and damp round the shower toletseat was broken the holiday was nice but the house needs updated but the view was fantastic

  • "The location of the cottage is beautiful, from the veranda we could look over the reservoir and the surrounding fields."

There was very little traffic to spoil the peace and tranquillity of the property. The garden at the back was enclosed and suitable for dogs. The hot tub was an added bonus, as were the numerous games found in the cottage, we all played. The cottage was well kitted out with utensils and towels etc, the welcome hamper was lovely. Altogether it suited the six of us, grandparents, children, grandchildren and two dogs perfectly.

Located off a quiet lane with the most superb views. Equipped with everything you need...and some! Weather wasn't soo great for our stay, but managed to get out and take a few walks with the dog. Owners couldn't of been more helpful...Thank you Team Orchard. 10/10.

  • "The pictures showed a sanua."

But when we arrived the owners informed us that there was no such provision for a sanua. We have booked many times with sykes cottages and this is the first time that anything like this has happened, but it was a bit disappointing as we would have booked a different property that we were looking at. Its not the owners fault as they have said they asked for the pictures to be reviewed. Also the area around the hot tub has changed. (for the better I add) They have built a stucture around it now to keep the elements off.

  • "The place was amazing and the views we’re beautiful."

However the carpet was filthy the hoover smelt like wet dog so couldn’t use. Everything else was spot on BUT we were hounded by wasps could use any of the facilities outside like hot tub, unless you were willing to keep bating the wasps away, dog got stung and cost is 150 as was bank holiday. So we were trapped inside for the whole week, couldn’t even open a window.. the owners couldMy do anything until after bank holiday and The wasp nest was removed the day before we left.. And no compensation was offered despite knowing how bad it was.. never ever again..

  • "The cottage was easy to find , down a narrow track, and is ideal for peace and quiet."

The covered hot tub was great, once we got the hang of how to use it! The front over looks the resivoir and it was lovely to relax outside and look over the water. A security light by the grass area would be helpful. The outside area is fully dog proof. Wifi was a bit hit and miss. And there was no welcome hamper, which was a big hit with previous visitors, a sign of covid19? Ideal for a restful break and handy to visit the local attractions

Left us a hamper which was full of local goodies and most appreciated! There is a lovely enclosed field at back of cottage which was brilliant for me as my dog is not usually let off the lead, she had a good run round and play with my friends dog and the back garden is dog proof too, so they could go out at any time without worry
