  • "We loved no 35 at the Salcombe - it is beautifully done out with everything you need."

It’s compact but with plenty of room for a couple. The balcony and the view are spectacular. It’s also great to have a parking spot right in the centre of the town. In another month or so we would have had an outdoor pool to enjoy as well - but we did like how quiet it was a bit out of season. We would definitely stay again if we were in the area. We couldn’t find the cooker switch - but coast and country helped us out very quickly!

  • "Beautifully furnished apartment."

Clean and had everything you need for two people. Best view anyone could wish for. A truely restful stay. Very quiet in January which was a real treat as Salcombe is a very busy place to be in peak times. Highly recommend. We found beautiful walks which we hadn’t done before. Thank you.

  • "35 The Salcombe was well equipped with everything you need for a self catering holiday."

The accommodation was kept to a good clean standard, The water front view was spectacular and was fortunate with the weather to be able to sit out on the patio. There was plenty of places to eat out and we enjoyed lovely coastal walks in Salcombe. We would return to this accommodation.

  • "The improvements to this property and especially the pull-down double bed make it excellent."

The new decking on the balcony avoids the awkward step there used to be. Everything is to a hugh standard. Our only complaint is that the kitchen sink is so slow it can give you back ache whendoing the washing up.

Bijoux property in good position with great view. Heated pool was a bonus. One minor issue was only one roll of loo paper provided but otherwise the apartment was well equipped.

  • "Garden and pool area overloaded morning to night with people not staying there, caught the owners letting people in and out lots of times……."

Iv been staying here a long time I no who they are !!!! I paid over thousand pound to stay here to use these facilities we felt awkward with large groups of people……15 plus (not seen any apartments hold that many people ) I can honestly say I don’t think I will book here anymore it’s lost it’s value for money ……. There are notices in reception and in the booking pack about not letting people in. Unfair for the paying customer looking for a quite place to relax while on holiday I’m very u happy this is not stoped . This is also effecting the owners letting these properties who do not conduct such activity……

  • "The property was advertised as a one bedroom flat, but it was really a studio with a sofa bed in the lounge."

The Sykes complaints rep considered that I mis-interpreted the description and admitted no responsibility for the mis-advertising which was most un Sykes like with customer service. However we had a pleasant stay but the advert could be further improved by explaining there was a separate small bunk bed room, which was omitted from the advert, where we could hang our clothes and store our suitcases. Hirers beware!!

We are sorry if the description was not clear that the apartment was a studio instead of a separate 1 bed apartment. We are pleased to be able to say that the owners have carried out extensive works over the winter and have in fact now removed the bunk room and created a separate room which contains the bed. We hope you still enjoyed your stay and hope you visit the area again soon. Coast & Country Cottages, on behalf of Property Owner

The apartment was really beautiful. The location unrivalled, the view out of the window stunning. With the added bonus of a parking space. Also a space for your boat on the landing. It was that good we only left the area to go for an Indian on the Monday night. The staff at Coast and Country were brilliant key pick up and drop off.

Thank you for taking the time to leave us your comments. We were really pleased to read that the apartment was beautifully presented upon your arrival. The views are certainly spectacular. Our Salcombe office would like to thank you for your praises to our team. We work hard to ensure that we meet all of our guests’ expectations. We look forward to welcoming you back soon. • "This flat is super - as always."

The owner keeps it in top condition and continues to maintain and improve it. Luxury feel - with the best views in Salcombe. A privilege to stay there - thank you! However, the Coast And Country experience has deteriorated over the last few years. They might say its Covid related but I also imagine the fact that they have been taken over by Sykes is a significant contributor. For example now, no one to hand back keys to - just an bowl. It was a great touch point before. Phoning in can take ages too. I gave up and just email now. The website that keeps tell me that someone else is looking at the same property I might be browsing is just annoying - do they really think we're going to be hustled like that...I suppose they do. The familiar, family run, friendly service is a thing of the past.

Thank you for taking the time to leave us your feedback. We were delighted to read that you had a lovely stay. We have passed on all your lovely comments to the owner who will be really pleased to know that the apartment was beautifully presented upon your arrival. We were terribly sorry that you felt as a company we have lost our personal touch. Unfortunately, as to minimise any potential infection a number of safety measures were put in place during the pandemic; one of which included the arrival procedure. Keys were popped into the box as to reduce any cross contamination. Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience this may have caused. We are pleased to say that this has now been taken away and our office is back open and we look forward to welcoming you back through our door. • "Very disappointed."

I don’t believe the description of the apartment accurately described the bedding situation. It is described as a one bed apartment stating that the living area has a double pull out bed. A very small double pull out bed that two adults could not sleep comfortably in! I would have assumed the bedroom would contain a full size double bed instead of the child size bunk beds that were present. When I requested sheets for the bunks I was told that they were not fit for adults and couldn’t be supplied that the booking was for two adults and that was what the pull out bed could accommodate - this assume a couple. I explained that even though we are a couple we could not both fit in the double sofa and would require sheets for the bottom bunk which were then supplied. The situation was totally unsatisfactory and took the shine off our few days away.

Holiday details did not explain where bedding was stored, which took us a long time to find.....call to Sykes failed to solve the problem. Sink is unusually low, a problem for people with bad backs! Flat is recently done up to very high standard.

  • "Excellent, with Marvelous view."

One major drawback....There should be a key box at the location. It is a pain to have to weave through Salcombe narrow one way streets when anxious to get off on a long journey home.

  • "The apartment was lovely and very clean but the double bed is a sofa bed (a very comfortable one) which was quite heavy to pull out and then a couple of bunk beds in the bedroom - ideal for family with children."

It is a very compact apartment but for two adults there was plenty of room and had the wonderful bonus of a parking space at the property and a very nice heated swimming pool.
