  • "Very spacious and clean bungalow in a great location close to a beach and cliff top walks."

    Everything needed for a perfect holiday with comfy beds and lovely gardens. Thanks to the owners for the wine and chocolates and milk tea/coffee provided too. The bungalow is all on one level but there is a few steps up to it and a sloping path.

  • "Thank you for your prompt action with the issue with the fridge freezer."

    Although we were a little surprised to be left to meet and greet both the AO delivery men at 9-00am on Saturday and your plumber at 9-30am. The plumber requested that we let him in and therefore we left him with the key on his assurance that he would put it back in the key safe. I hope you were able to install the new fridge in time for the next visitors. We very much enjoyed our stay at Elberry house. It was a nice surprise to find the beach both so close and such an easy walk. We made full use of it and made visits to both Greenway and Coleton Fishacre. The Guardroom cafe at Berry Head near Brixham provided two super lunches at a very reasonable price. It is well worth the effort to seek it out. The walks there and sea views are very good with seals and seabirds to see. We loved the house. Plenty of room for the three of us and very well equipped and comfortable. We were out most days and we were very lucky with the weather. We saw wildlife around the house including woodpeckers, owls, buzzards and various smaller birds. Lots of walks from the front door including a walk to Brixham and a bus back. It is also possible to do the same to Paignton but we did not manage to fit that in. We would very much like to be able to come again another time but this house is very popular so we will need to book early.

We did speak to ao re this but as they were already in the property, it seems we were too late. Again, our apologies for this.     Not overlooked, surrounded by greenery, best of all five minutes walk to amazing Broadsand beach, from which there are loads of coastal walks, to Brixham, Berry head. Excellently positioned for regular busses to Brixham, Leighton and other places. Fully recommend.

  • "Would make more about how amazingly close this place is to a fantastic beach."

    Explain that shower room is just a shower - no sink/toilet - we didn’t realise this. Rethink asking guests who have to leave at 10am and only allowed in after 4pm to strip the beds and put away the towels. Didn’t need/want to see the stained mattress protectors! Otherwise this is an excellent property, well equipped and the Mandy and owners responded very quickly- would definitely recommend, thank you.

Addressing the points you raised in your review, we have spoken to the management company about the mattress protector, which we can only apologise for. The management company assure us that it was absolutely cleaned via our usual high quality dry cleaning process, but obviously there has been an issue with the removal of the permanent stain. We have provided the management company with brand new protectors, which we do several times a year. In regards to the check in and out times and the bed stripping, this is a fair comment and again we put this to the management company who are looking to change this at the end of September. We are pleased that overall you enjoyed your stay and enjoyed the area and local beach too. Property Owner

  • "This property is described as having 3 bathrooms!"

    It hasn,t! Check the small print!. If you are two couples sharing and desire your own bathrooms, this property is not for you.! The double bedroom has a quirky shower cubicle only, entranced by a half sized door!... A small cloackroom with toilet and tiny sink....A House bathroom/shower over bath. It is in a great location and in easy reach for families to access the lovely Broadsands Beach. The wisteria was in beautiful full bloom.

I have had another look at the website today after your feedback and I can indeed see why this could have been confusing as it does show 3 bathrooms, however the summary further down does go on to list each room out in detail explaining what our guests can expect in each room.   • "What a gem of a place !"

    ! utterly charming shower was brilliant and lovely thick towels , everything you could want in the kitchen equipment wise if cooking is your thing, the best part for us was opening the curtains of a morning and having a beautiful sea view! the beach just down the road making it a perfect rental if you have children,Prosecco and chocolates were a lovely surprise, I would absolutely recommend this bungalow and anyone having a holiday here certainly won’t be disappointed.

  • "From the pictures, we assumed that the bungalow was a lot smaller but had a positive surprise when we arrived."

    The bungalow is far bigger than we expected, recently renovated, impeccably decorated, and the best equipped UK holiday home that we have stayed in. The bathrooms were excellent. We had a great time and wish that we could have stayed for longer. For the fit, it's a seven (ish) mile walk and back to Berry Head and Brixham along the South West Coast Path. It's a fabulous little spot - a five-minute walk to Broadsands beach and a fifteen-minute walk to Elberry Cove, which is terrific. It is pretty up and down, along the coast path and through woodlands, but it takes in some awesome coves, and you can have a refreshment in Brixham. Thanks to the hosts for a great stay :)

  • "All round it was a good well equipped cottage near the seaside and other attractions."

    House needed a bit of tlc (toilet seat broken, dusty in corners and under furniture etc, but damp). However I felt that the comment made in the house description on the website: ‘neighbours may be doing some renovations from May’ in no way covered the next door house being completed encased in plastic and major work obviously happening - with builders arriving every day between 7.30 and 8am with music blaring and much shouting. We booked in June by which time the description should have been updated to reflect what was actually happening as I would have probably booked alternative accommodation. Not the relaxing holiday I was hoping for! When paying nearly £3k for a cottage, I would expect better. Can someone please contact me about this.

I am pleased you found the bungalow well equipped during your stay and close to the beach and local attractions. We do strive to ensure everything a guest may need is catered for. Your comment in regards to the bungalow needing TLC concerned me, as we recently spent 6 months modernising and updating the property. However, on reading further, you make it clear you are referring to a toilet seat and some dust in the corners under furniture. Although we provide guests full contact details for our management company and for Sykes during their stay, I am disappointed that you failed to contact either company to give us the opportunity to remedy your concerns, only highlighting them once you had left. My management company did contact you directly during your stay, offering a property clean and linen change due to your length of stay, which you declined. You opted only for clean towels. When we added details of the neighbouring renovation to the website, they were as reported to us by the neighbours. I’m sorry if you feel it did not represent the actual work taking place. Due to COVID-19, their timeframe has obviously changed. As we are keyworkers who have worked shifts throughout the pandemic, I’m afraid we have been unable to visit the property and have been reliant on the fact that no other guests had complained of any noise from the neighbouring property which we have been informed are nearly complete. The management company have assured me today that they have fixed the toilet seat, which needed tightening and although extensive deep cleans are already in place, they will carry out extra checks after each clean. I hope this has gone some way to address your feedback and can only apologise that we did not have the opportunity to address this at the time. Property Owner
