  • "Loved our week at Laurel Cottage - it is one of the best properties I have ever stayed at."

Spotlessly clean and comfortable, with an attention to detail that makes your stay much easier. The welcome pack was much appreciated after a long slow journey down! We would not hesitate to return.

  • "Fantastic property with everything we needed."

Great owners. Will recommend to others and if we return to the area will look at booking here.

  • "We were concerned by some reviews about the owners boat and temperature at the place, after talking with Richard we were reassured."

Our stay was very pleasant. The reviews are educational as long as one is not too alarmed by the content. Always try to discuss concerns with your host in the first instant. This gives all sides a fair chance to comprehend issues.

  • "Our hosts Richard and Joanne were very warm and welcoming."

Nothing was too much trouble. The area was very quiet and as we had my elderly parents with us that was a bonus. It's very hilly but there was plenty of parking in Torquay so we got them into town easily and it was 2 minutes drive from the cottage. We would definitely return.

  • "This cottage is just gorgeous!"

Very cosy and comfortable with everything you need for a lovely holiday. Situated just outside the hustle and bustle of the main town centre it's so quiet and relaxing. The courtyard at the side of the house is perfect for outside dining. Richard who lives next door and owns the holiday cottage is wonderful and so helpful. He left a chilled bottle of prosecco for our arrival plus tea, coffee and milk which was really appreciated also little toiletries which our girls loved!! If we ever returned to Torquay we would stay here again definitely. Thankyou for a lovely stay.

  • "This is a super little cottage."

The owner, Richard, was courteous, kind and knowledgeable about the local area. The accommodation was of a very high standard, very clean and well equipped. We had a super time and I would highly recommend this property.

  • "It was a cold accommodation and a small portable heater could be used to take the chill of."

The parking of the car was somewhat difficult in that you parked between the accommodation and a very large boat. Reversing back down the driveway was rather awkward. Bathroom and bedrooms were fine. Sadly not a holiday accommodation that we would seek again.

Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback. Laurel Cottage has central heating which can be adjusted as required: the owners of the property are just next door and are happy to assist should you have any queries during your stay. The owner has quite a large car and hasn't encountered any issues with using this particular parking spot. In this case, we understand that you were offered an easier alternative parking option but you insisted on parking where you did. Property Owner

  • "The cottage was very comfortable and one of the cleanest holiday homes we have stayed in."

The hosts, Richard and Joanna were extremely helpful and welcoming, but not intrusive. The location was fine, just a short walk into the town and the harbour, but a slightly longer walk back uphill. The only drawback of the property for us was the bathroom being downstairs.

  • "Laurel Cottage was beautifully and immaculately presented with everything you could need for a comfortable stay."

There was great attention to detail. The bed was super comfy and we appreciated the extra touches from our delightful hosts Richard and Joanna. They were happy to offer suggestions for walks or restaurants in the area and made us very welcome. The property was in a quiet position a ten minute walk down to the harbour (a bit more coming back uphill but not difficult). We would definitely consider staying there again.

  • "The cottage was lovely very cosy and comfortable all furnishings and decor excellent, the small courtyard was very pretty and despite it being late September the flowers were still lovely, it was just a short walk to the town centre and harbour, the harbour area was lovely but to be honest we thought the town itself not very nice, but we found a very good M&S store just a short drive away and it had a very good food store."

Because of COVID we decided not to eat out in the evening so the kitchen became quit important for us, we found it a little basic when it came to utensils for cooking, the fridge freezer, dishwasher and washing machine were all very welcome additions though, the owner’s live next to the cottage and were very helpful in supplying info about the surrounding area.

  • "We had a wonderful holiday at Laurel Cottage in Torquay."

Our host Richard and Joanna were very welcoming and had thought of everything. We particularly liked the advice booklet with ideas of places to visit, local restaurants and pubs. The cottage was spotless and had everything we needed and bottle of Prosecco was a lovely touch.

  • "Laurel cottage, was a lovely place to stay, it had everything provided for a comfortable stay, Richard and Joanna who live next door, we’re very helpful,as we wanted to have a barbecue, so provided one for us, the parking for 2 cars was a great addition as parking in Torquay was very busy and every place they charge, good idea to download “park mobile app” before you go."

Would go back again I would give 5 stars

  • "Big enough for the 3 of us."

Very clean on arrival and had everything we needed. Netflix was a bonus for a couple of the rainy afternoons. You can park within a few feet of the door which makes unloading the car nice and easy. It is only a ten minute walk down to the harbour which turns into 15 on the way back because its uphill! If visiting the area again I would definitely book again.
