    Mrs Page

“Beautiful cottage, well equipped in lovely tranquil location.”

Mr and Mrs Caine were very welcoming even though we arrived late in the evening, showing us around and explaining what we needed to know. Will definately be returning to Telford, with Dartmoor on your doorstep who wouldn't.

The property

This detached cottage is situated two miles from the Devon town of Chagford, in a rural spot within the 15 acre grounds of the owners’ house.

Comfortable and welcoming, it is a fine cottage for families or friends to enjoy.

The porch and large hall lead through to the bright sitting room with its slate floor, wood burning stove and French windows giving splendid views to the moorland hill of Meldon and access to a little patio.

The dining room also has French windows to the patio, where you can enjoy a barbecue.

The large kitchen is well equipped, and you have a useful downstairs shower room.

The master double, one of three wood-floored bedrooms, has an en suite shower room, as well as use of the family bathroom.

The garden is enclosed and sheltered by a rhododendron hedge.

From the cottage, head out on a twenty minute walk to the open moors, with its tors and ponies and sheep, and there are other lovely countryside walks from the door.

Chagford offers a choice of shops and inns, as well as a seasonal outdoor pool and tennis courts, and the cathedral city of Exeter is just 17 miles away.

Sandy beaches are a 20 mile drive.

Yelfords Cottage is well located for walking on Dartmoor and exploring Devon.
