  • "Mandy and Jon are great hosts."

The house was very comfortable, clean, and with plenty of activities (hot tub, indoor/outdoor games, pool table, etc)! My family really enjoyed it and didn't want to leave so soon. We hope to be back in the future.

  • "Lovely property."

Clean, spacious and a great venue for family gatherings. Couple of challenging points - Access is by a single dirt track and slow approach needed as you have to reverse for any oncoming vehicles. Once you’re in the house it’s superb, but WiFi and poor phone signals are something to be aware of. Aside from that it’s honestly so lovely. Hot tub is top notch, great large fridge and freezer. Wine cooler and all things good in the kitchen. We all had a lovely time.

They were great hosts and Thorneybees ticked all the boxes for a wonderful 70th birthday celebration with my family. I would, and will, recommend this property to anyone who will listen!

  • "Property was beautiful."

The garden was perfect for us to host some lawn games and hot tub time. We spent the weekend here for a friends hen weekend after being let down by loads of other properties because it was a ‘hen.’ But Mandy was extremely accommodating and was literally a phone call away and even cooked some food for us when we were having nibbles which made a amazing help for us and some peckish hens! The kitchen was amazing size and facilities perfect! i would definitely stay here again!

So glad you had a great time. Thank you for coming to stay. Hope to see you again in the future. Mandy and Jon. Property Owner

  • "We booked Thorneybee’s for a girlie weekend to celebrate my sister’s 40th and it was great."

Amazing property with lovely hosts who were on hand to answer our queries both before arrival and whilst at the house. The house is so well equipped with everything we needed. We were extremely lucky with the weather and so made the most of the gorgeous garden and hot tub. We would definitely return. Thank you to Mandy and John for making us feel so welcome and for the lovely welcome hamper. Our only suggestion would be to maybe have a sign saying ‘this way to Thorneybee’s house’ as you go over the canal bridge so you know you are heading the right way!

Thanks so much for booking Thorneybees, thrilled you all had a great time. Hope to see you again in the future. Have a fabulous summer. Mandy and Jon. Property Owner

  • "What an amazingly unique location and property!"

If you were looking for somewhere away from the hustle and bustle, but with a town a matter of minutes away in a car - this is it. Beautifully kept contemporary house and garden with well thought out facilities and layout for large groups. The very friendly owners make themselves available to answer any questions immediately, and even pop round if you need help with anything, brilliant. We had sunshine throughout our stay which meant a glorious walk to the pub, but even if it had rained this house can still cheer you up I'm sure. Thoroughly recommended.

Plenty of space in the kitchen to prepare large meals for everyone, with dining space to match. The beds were very comfy and the house was certainly at a modern standard. The hosts Mandy and Jon were very friendly and helpful, couldn’t have asked for more. Would be an amazing property to rent during the summer months.

  • "A fantastic weekend away with all the family in a beautiful house."

The house is big so plenty of room for all of us and the house is so warm with the added bonus of the log fire. The hot tub was amazing with everyone enjoying it and the games room kept the kids and adults entertained. We had a welcome hamper from Mandy and Jon who were so friendly and welcoming. Any problems or questions we had they’d be on it straight away. The house was very clean and the beds were comfy. The canal is next to the house so we had a nice walk along there. We absolutely loved our stay and will definitely be coming back.

Property facilities were brilliant, especially the hot tub, games room and log burner! Mandy was extremely helpful and provided lots of information prior to our stay. Communications with Mandy were brilliant (even when I needed to check if we'd switched the oven off after we'd left!). The welcome hamper was very appreciated too! Beautiful location with lovely walks nearby. I have already been recommending Thorneybees to friends and family and hoping we can stay again soon! Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Hot tub a particular bonus - especially with the children. Plenty of safe areas to play as it’s completely fenced. Very bumpy journey from main road to property. Car parking area in a stony/gravel surround of house, which may prove difficult for wheelchairs & buggies. Otherwise, terrific!
