Excellent location for walking to the village along the canal, or for exploring further afield. What a wonderfully relaxing break, it was great to wake up in the morning to the sound of the birds. If you are looking for a great house for up to 10 people, look no further than Thorneybess - you won’t be disappointed!

The house excellent, Mandy and Jon was very obliging, however the en-suite would have been better if there was a shower or a shower over the bath as two shower for ten adults is not sufficient

We are so pleased you had a great week. Sorry you feel there should be another shower. We have left a bath in the property as families like a bath for their children and the style of bath in the en-suite won’t allow a shower over it. Have a lovely summer. Mandy and Jon. Property Owner

The house was very comfortable, clean, and with plenty of activities (hot tub, indoor/outdoor games, pool table, etc)! My family really enjoyed it and didn't want to leave so soon. We hope to be back in the future.

  • "Lovely property."

Clean, spacious and a great venue for family gatherings. Couple of challenging points - Access is by a single dirt track and slow approach needed as you have to reverse for any oncoming vehicles. Once you’re in the house it’s superb, but WiFi and poor phone signals are something to be aware of. Aside from that it’s honestly so lovely. Hot tub is top notch, great large fridge and freezer. Wine cooler and all things good in the kitchen. We all had a lovely time.

The garden was perfect for us to host some lawn games and hot tub time. We spent the weekend here for a friends hen weekend after being let down by loads of other properties because it was a ‘hen.’ But Mandy was extremely accommodating and was literally a phone call away and even cooked some food for us when we were having nibbles which made a amazing help for us and some peckish hens! The kitchen was amazing size and facilities perfect! i would definitely stay here again!

Amazing property with lovely hosts who were on hand to answer our queries both before arrival and whilst at the house. The house is so well equipped with everything we needed. We were extremely lucky with the weather and so made the most of the gorgeous garden and hot tub. We would definitely return. Thank you to Mandy and John for making us feel so welcome and for the lovely welcome hamper. Our only suggestion would be to maybe have a sign saying ‘this way to Thorneybee’s house’ as you go over the canal bridge so you know you are heading the right way!

If you were looking for somewhere away from the hustle and bustle, but with a town a matter of minutes away in a car - this is it. Beautifully kept contemporary house and garden with well thought out facilities and layout for large groups. The very friendly owners make themselves available to answer any questions immediately, and even pop round if you need help with anything, brilliant. We had sunshine throughout our stay which meant a glorious walk to the pub, but even if it had rained this house can still cheer you up I'm sure. Thoroughly recommended.
