  • "Having stayed at the cottage before we were aware of steep stairs and difficult parking - we had a comrotable, enjoyable holiday."

One point though, the WiFi code as given in instructions did not work.

Delighted you had another enjoyable stay at our lovely cottage. Sorry you had a wifi issue - had you called Coast & Country they would have been able to help you. Looking forward to seeing you again. Property Owner

  • "The staircase and car parking are accidents just waiting to happen"

Many thanks for your feedback and for your new booking for your return stay in April 2022. I’m sorry you found the stairs difficult. This is an 18th century cottage, but the stairs are regulation depth. The turn at the top may possibly make them a bit difficult for the very elderly or infirm (as stated on the website). The parking on the drive is more than adequate for 2 medium sized cars, but would not support 2 large 4 x 4s as we detail. The narrow lane on which the cottage is situated is the old road to Kingsbridge and part of the charm of this village. As stated on the website there is plenty of room to turn round on the driveway opposite the cottage. We do hope you enjoyed your stay and will return to this beautiful area soon. Property Owner

  • "The cottage was very clean with all new appliances in the kitchen and very comfortable furniture throughout."

The parking was not easy but got expert at it by the end of the week. One or two things we found disappointing were there was no wifi or internet connection and the hot water was very disappointing, if there had been more than two people it would have been hopeless.

Many thanks for you feedback. We are thrilled you found the property well equipped and comfortable. We are surprised to read that you had an issue with the Wi-Fi, the property does have Wi-Fi and we have not had any comments of the nature in the past, we can confirm that it is working. Please know that if you had let us know of any issues during your stay we would have done our best to rectify them as soon as possible. We do hope you had an enjoyable holiday despite the matters you have mentioned and we look forward to welcoming you back to the area soon. Property Owner

  • "Lovely cottage which was exceptionally well equipped and furnished with quality items."

Very clean and comfortable. Bottle of wine provided on arrival which was nice. One minor drawback if the narrow access and limited parking but it is adequate for two medium sized cars and we got used to manoeuvring into the spaces. Lovely area with loads to visit within reasonable distance. Kingsbridge, Salcombe, Hope Cove, Prawle Point (coastal walk), Dartmouth, Totnes, Dittisham (boat hire) all lovely. Loads of great pubs and restaurants in and around Kingsbridge but booking ahead is recommended.

  • "The cottage itself is very nice and clean but it seems the owners have done the minimum to be able to rent it out."

The mattress in the main bedroom was very hard. The garden which was only small (as we knew beforehand from pictures) was unkept (weeds, no flowers and grass uncut). We were disappointed to have to buy toilet rolls as only two were provided. Parking is also difficult, up a narrow sloping lane and with only one neighbour allowing you to turn, we ended up reversing up the lane each time. Your note to say the stairs are a little steep and narrow is accurate to the point I would say not suitable for elderly or young children. The hot water was not enough for 5 of us to have showers in the morning either. I would not recommend this cottage but would recommend the area as we had a great time in this part of Devon.

Many thanks for leaving you feedback, however we were surprised to read some of your comments, the cottage was newly furnished and had all new equipment before the season started. The owner has informed us that there is a special turning place for cars opposite the parking area which is highlighted in the instructions left in the cottage, there is no need to reverse up the lane. We can only apologise that the garden was untidy, the gardener was due to visit that week so we will investigate as to why the issues you mentioned were not addressed. Please know that if you had notified us about any hot water issues, we could have rectified this immediately. All your comments have been passed on to the owner. We do hope you enjoyed your holiday in spite of the matters you raised and look forward to welcoming you back to the area soon. Property Owner
