  • "Very happy overall with the accommodation."

We have stayed at the Pottery before (in a different apartment) and think it's great. Minor points: 1) Front door key is a bit fiddly to operate and a second key would be useful with two couples staying 2) We liked the Christmas tree & welcome pack - thank you! 3) Some regular size wine glasses that go in the dishwasher would be nice. 4) We only banged our head once ! Maybe paint that ceiling in a different (hi viz!) colour ? Overall though, as I say, we were very happy and would readily book it again.

  • "The property was very nicely decorated and comfortable, with a kitchen that had almost everything you might need."

Although, a pair of tongs, a ladle and large slotted spoon wouldn't go amiss. The Christmas tree, decs & treats were a nice touch. Thank you! The location couldn't be better, with just a 10-15min walk into town & some great walks to be had just right outside the front door! We especially enjoyed our walk up to Gallant's Bower for some spectacular views! Also, it was a real bonus to have parking included, as it's such a rare thing in the winter in Dartmouth, since there's park & ride available in the summer. Regarding the cleaning issues and in light of these unusual times, a bit more attention to cleaning would be good as there were food/greasy smears around the handles & controls of both ovens as well as the kitchen taps and in the large, downstairs bathroom, the toilet needed to be cleaned, since it clearly hadn't been. Other than that, the rest of the property was clean enough. The only other issue we had wasn't with the property itself, it was really lovely but with Sykes themselves and the lack of communication with them when enquiring about the bedding which took several weeks to resolve, including 2 phone calls, at our expense, just to get an accurate answer and was only sorted less than a week before our check in at the property. I would gladly recommend 4 The Pottery but not really Sykes.

  • "Lovely apartment in a great location."

Very comfortable and clean. Relatively easy access/walk into Dartmouth and buses/boats and steam train, with great access to South West Coast Path. Would recommend that if you are planning on self catering and cooking own food that you take a pair of oven clothes. Recommend also a river trip up to Greenways and visiting the House, a trip on the steam railway Kingswear to Paignton (although sadly Paignton is a bit grim), also Dartmouth castle and St Saviours Church.. Great shopping also in Totnes, which is refreshing to see the amount of good independant retailers.

  • "A bedside table was missing from the master bedroom and a lamp was placed on the floor so we had to sleep in the bedroom without the on suite."

Many thanks for your feedback, We pass all feedback positive or otherwise onto the owner who has since been in touch to say they have now ordered a new bedside table, however there is a taller stand the lamp can sit on. We do hope you enjoyed your holiday and loved all that Dartmouth has to offer. Property Owner

  • "The location was great, we know the area and it worked well for us."

When we arrived the apartment was tidy, however we felt like it wasn’t cleaned properly we had to Hoover and mop again. Other than that everything else was spot on.

Many thanks for taking the time to leave your feedback. We are sorry that you felt the need to reclean the floor, we later discovered that a contractor had popped in to do a job and we fear that this was maybe the reason the floors did not looking immaculate. Please know if you had made us aware during your stay, we would have done our best to rectify this as soon as possible. We do hope you had and enjoyable stay and look forward to welcoming you back to the area soon. Property Owner

The property

Discover this duplex apartment, situated within a beautiful Grade II listed landmark, close to the bustling town of Dartmouth and just a short walk to the Warfleet Creek.

Set over the lower-ground-floor and ground-floor of the building and boasting two plush king-size bedrooms, as well as its perfect position for exploring the coast, 4 The Pottery is perfect for couples, groups of friends and families to come together to enjoy this part of the South Hams area of South Devon.

The historical building has a colourful history, having once been a paper mill, a bakery, an outstanding brewery and The Dartmouth Pottery; today, however, it has been sympathetically transformed with incredible attention to detail and has successfully retained many architectural features to provide an exceptional holiday accommodation.

Enter into the apartment and be welcomed in by the open-plan living room, where the exposed beams and original stone wall compliment the contemporary furnishings and mod cons, ensuring a relaxing stay.

The kitchen is complete with elegant white units that house quality-cooking appliances, allowing you to self-cater for yourself for the duration of your stay, and the central island unit makes a great spot of meal preparation.

Once dinner is served, regroup with your loved ones at the dining table and tuck in, before toasting to a memorable holiday or whiling away the evening whilst playing board games brought from home.

Afterwards, settle down on the sofa to flick through the channels of the TV or snuggle up on the armchair with a cup of tea in hand.

Take the stairs down to find the master suite, which comes complete with a king-size bed, a wardrobe and its own en-suite, whilst the second bedroom also benefits from a king-size bed and access to the family bathroom, featuring a shower over bath.

Look forward to exploring your surroundings further as you take a leisurely stroll into the centre of Dartmouth, which is home to a cluster of places to eat and drink, as well as shops and attractions including Dartmouth Museum and the well-kept Royal Avenue Gardens.

Discover the town’s interesting past by making time to visit the nearby imposing Dartmouth Castle or wander around the 16th century fortress of Bayard's Cove Fort.

For the best views, don your walking shoes and hike along the South West Coast Path to Brownstone Battery and Berry Head National Nature Reserve, or venture to the Dartmoor National Park, which is home to Hingston Hill Stone Circle and the Norsworthy Bridge.

Attractions that families will enjoy include the Woodlands Family Theme Park, Torquay's Dinosaur World, Paignton Zoo Environmental Park and Go Ape Haldon, all located within driving distance of the apartment.

Summer afternoons can be spent on the sandy shores of Sugary Cove Beach or travelling to the seaside town of Torquay for a memorable beach day out with breath-taking views.

4 The Pottery promises to be a wonderful break for the whole family.
