A really interesting barn conversion in the village of Galmpton, a mile from the beautiful River Dart and 3 miles from Brixham harbour.
Enjoying a quiet village setting within a short stroll of a friendly pub and village shop, this barn provides spacious family accommodation on three levels.
The entrance is on the lower ground floor, with steep stairs to the ground floor with vaulted ceiling, beams, and plenty of light and space.
There are two areas for dining together as a family; a breakfast area in the cosy kitchen, plus a large dining table under the picture window in the sitting room, accessed up a few more steps from the kitchen.
The stone fireplace houses a woodburner, ideal for a cosy evening relaxing on the comfy sofas after a bracing walk along the cliff path.
There are doors leading out to the secluded courtyard garden, a real sun trap lined with interesting plants, and a lovely quiet spot to enjoy the warm climate.
The two ground floor bedrooms share a shower room, situated on the lower ground floor.
From the sitting room there are two separate flights of stairs, one leading to the master double with en-suite shower room, and the other to a twin bedroom and family bathroom.
There is a fabulous walk from the cottage to the River Dart and on to Greenway, once the home of Agatha Christie and now run by the National Trust.
From Galmpton Creek there are beautiful views across to Dittisham, as well as boat mooring facilities.
A short drive from the cottage leads into Brixham, a busy harbour town, where it is customary to watch the local fishermen land their catch.
The harbour front is flanked by a selection of family-run bars and bistros offering fresh fish and the finest of local produce.
A short walk along the coastal path leads to a medley of pretty beaches and coves, as well as the ever-popular seawater swimming pool at Shoalstone.
Take the ferry to Dartmouth, which has a good reputation for fashionable restaurants, interesting boutiques and of course, all the activity along the waterfront.
This is a really stunning cottage in a quiet spot near the English Riviera.
