  • "We had a great holiday at Elworthy View, the cottage is very comfortable, with large kitchen and sitting room and the view is beautiful."

We were looking for a peaceful quiet place to be and Elworthy View provided that and much more. It was lovely to sit out on the patio, look at the view and watch our dog thoroughly enjoy her time in the large safe enclosed garden which is such a bonus. A new kitchen has been fitted which has an excellent double oven, hob, together with plenty of storage and lots of crockery, pots and pans plus many other kitchen essentials are provided - it is really well stocked. The owners are lovely, very friendly and on site, sure if you have any problem they would quickly sort it out. It is a cosy warm cottage, the heating and hot water works instantly and there are the added bonuses of a dishwasher, a good sized washing machine and a rotary clothes line plus pegs, a decent sized fridge and separate freezer. A real home from home. The cottage is well placed for visiting a variety of places and countryside including National Trust Properties - Arlington Court, Knightshayes and Heddon Valley, all of which have an excellent choice of dog walks. We would highly recommend the Tiverton canal walks, which offers miles of beautiful canal side walking including cafes and visitor centre at the start in Tiverton. If you are interested in garden plants then Ash Moor Garden Centre is a gem, a good old fashioned nursery. We can't wait to return to Elworthy View again.

  • "This is a lovely place to stay."

Spacious but cosy, comfortable sofas and beds , with a well equipped kitchen. The garden is a good size for Doggie zoomies but small enough to keep it clean with really lovely views . The cottage is well located for visits to Exmoor , lovely sandy beeches , some beautiful fishing harbours and much more. The owners were friendly but not intrusive, I'm sure they would've been very helpful if there had been any issues. And now I must get on and use our voucher and book this property again for next Autumn. We can't wait.

Very large and comfortable and very well equipped. We appreciated the enclosed garden which made life so easy with our dogs. The farm dogs welcomed us home every day, so if you don't like dogs this isn't the property for you. There are fantastic views from the property and in an ideal position for great sunsets.

We got to go everywhere we wanted from Minehead to going back to the honey farm. We would highly recommend anyone to go and stay at Elworthy, the views are fantastic the people wonderful. • "Had a really relaxing holiday."

The bungalow was very comfortable and had everything you could ever need. The garden was very secure for your four legged friends. Make sure you take plenty of fly replant if you plan to eat outdoor in the summer. We had a small problem with the wifi but it was quickly sorted. The only thing you have to remember that it is on a working farm so if you are looking for a holiday where you can lay in, the farmers start work early. The area itself is very stunning with views for miles and miles. The town of South Molton has everything you could want and again is very picturesque. It makes for a good base for walking and taking trips to the coast.

  • "Great place to stay!"

! Everything you need in a holiday property, - well equipped, immaculately clean and comfortable. The views from the garden are fabulous and the garden is well fenced and secure for your canine companion(s). It’s situated just 5 mins from South Molton where you’ll find all you need. There’s a well stocked Sainsbury’s and markets on set days. Elworthy View is on a working farm, but this doesn’t encroach on your space or ability to relax. Karen and Bill are pleasant and helpful and the farm dogs are friendly and always up for a fuss and a dog treat!! You will need to travel about 40 mins to the north and west coast resorts, but it’s pretty central to both which makes it an ideal base from which to explore. We chose routes off the beaten track, which particularly going north turned up some really quaint and pretty Exmoor villages (although some very tight lanes to be encountered). Clovelly, Croyde and Lynmouth are all within easy reach and well worth a visit. Ilfracombe, Minehead and Woolacombe are typical English resorts with a good range of shops, Westward Ho however was a huge disappointment to us, busy, noisy and very dirty!!

Our dog, who hates change, was very quick to settle in, which is important to us. We enjoyed too, being on a working farm. The owners were very helpful and friendly. The cream tea which was provided for us, was great. We would not hesitate to return if we came back to the area and the owners were happy to allow us access again. A lovely setting, which is a short walk from the village via a bridle way and close to the town of South Molton. The town is very well worth a visit or three. Thank you Mr and Mrs Dart for a great stay.

Good position, South Molton is a lovely little town with good facilities including supermarket, local delis & takeaways. Surrounding the bungalow are some lovely beaches, the Tarka trail and some great pubs for tea. We all enjoyed our week away despite the weather including our dog!

an absolute gem of a bungalow, there is nothing you will not find here for your holiday, very clean and well laid out. Our hosts Karen & Bill were on hand or phone for advice and a friendly chat. Cream Tea and milk in the fridge on arrival, we were spoilt from the start (Cream on top of the jam). Slap!. This property is located on a working farm so expect the usual countryside sounds, the dogs soon become accustomed to it. Yes, the dogs can have a holiday as well, enclosed garden so no worries. The view from the garden and patio is glorious. Whether you wish to travel and explore N, S, E or W this is a central location. Some narrow lanes to negotiate. South Molton is only 3 miles away for some shopping, eating or a Take-Away. We are looking forward to a return visit.

  • "Although the property is broadly as described we felt that the standard of cleanliness left a lot to be desired."

On arrival the first thing that we noticed was that the washing up bowl was thick with grease and the washing machine clearly had not been cleaned for some time. The under sink cupboard was also very dirty and again had not been cleaned for some time. When mentioning these things to the owner her response was to say "I didn't look in there" which is totally unacceptable. She reluctantly took both the bowl and drawer dispenser from the washing machine, cleaned and returned them the next day. On further investigation, the interior of the oven was in such a filthy state that we felt unable to use it at all, leaving the microwave oven as our only means of cooking for the duration of our stay. Although the accommodation is set in beautiful scenery with stunning views we felt the experience was spoilt by the lack of attention given to the standard of cleanliness of the property and as such does not represent good value for money. We took photographs of all the above issues and are happy to forward them to you if required. We look forward to your comments on this matter.

Thank you very much for your feedback. We always maintain a very high cleaning standard, I apologise if that was not the scenario with your stay. I have taken your feedback on board: the washing machine drawer is bleached now and I am also thinking that I will replace the old hob with a new one. Property Owner
