“We have used several Dartmoor rentals previously, but this one was outstanding and provided the best combination of antiquity, location, cleanliness and facilities.”

We absolutely loved Northill and it provided everything we expected and more. The rooms are superb and the furnishings very high quality (particularly the mattresses!), welcome hamper was well beyond my expectations, heating works well, showers are the best ever, mobile phones work well on site, there are sometimes deer in the garden, good footpaths and the leat that bubbles past the door provides redoubled charm. So good we are considering booking again in a few weeks time. The reception from Maddy was brilliant and she provided answers to all of our questions, as well as a bunch of local contacts. It is very hard to find criticisms, but if pushed I could say that the internet is good at one end of the house, not so hot at the other, and the entrance drive (which we all found both daunting and ultimately exciting) was a bit of a shock to delivery drivers - one of whom chickened out. When we return we may arrange to meet big vans at the top of the drive, just to be sure - but don't let that put you off - it all adds to the character of this stunning house and the incredibly relaxed holiday it enables.
