The views are long and wide, stretching from the pasture out over wooded hills, up to the Moor in one direction and across the park-like grounds in other directions. The balcony gave a great vantage point to make the most of wildlife-spotting possibilities. We saw deer and heard the cuckoo. It was lovely to arrive somewhere so luxurious (real, cotton bedding/comfortable beds and sofas and plenty of shower/bathrooms). Kitchen/eating equipment was generous and we even found weighing scales so we could make scones. The hot tub was fun. The only thing lacking was somewhere to hang coats. We had the most wonderful stay and would love to return. My one sentence of advice would be to put in the GPS coordinates because if you were travelling through the area for the first time, or at night, it would be very difficult to find. 50-40-16.9 North 3-52-24.2 West Reviewed by BrianSep 2021 "A wonderful relaxing place to stay." Very comfortable. The roads around the property are a little bit hairy, very narrow, (that's Devon for you!) but well worth negotiating. We appreciated the fresh provisions left for us and the lodge was well equipped. The only very small improvements we would like to see are a coffee machine (as we are too lazy to keep cleaning out a cafetière), salad serving utensils and a plastic/melamine/bamboo set for the younger visitors and outside use as all crockery provided was china. Didn't detract in any way from a super stay though. Thank you. Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback. The owner has noted the points raised and a Nespresso coffee maker is now available at the property. I booked a month earlier to keep it within my price range and only booked with Sykes because I couldn't find it elsewhere. On the plus side, love the cottage, comfortable, clean, well equipped and gorgeous setting. What may put some off is that it is very remote, difficult to access by foot (unless you are a keen walker) tricky by car too because of the really narrow access lane but possible if you concentrate - we coped with all of this though!
