  • "This is a superb property with excellent hosts."

Everything in the Threshing Barn to the highest standard. Arrived to a bottle of Prosecco and a delicious home made lemon drizzle cake. Very spacious property maintained to the highest standard throughout. Thank you, Liesel and Lloyd, for making us so welcome.

  • "A fantastic weeks holiday in a beautiful part of Devon only 40 minutes to the coastline."

The site offers a huge amount of flora and fauna and the amount of wildlife is amazing. I recorded 12 different bat species and I would recommend that anyone interested in nature and wildlife pay a visit here

  • "The Threshing Barn was the perfect place and location for a holiday."

The barn itself is outstanding, everything was spotlessly clean, comfortable with all utensils/amenities we needed. (Bed, sofas and shower all excellent). The pool and grounds are another wow! It is just magical, all the areas to explore, outside cooking facilities, the pool, all brilliant additions to what is already a fantastic holiday home. The location, being so close to the A30, is also great as it means you're just an hour or so from the coast. We had days out at Padstow, Newquay and their surrounding areas which was an unexpected bonus. Would definitely recommend the Threshing Barn to anyone looking for a holiday where you could mix complete relaxation time with some exploration time added in between. Thought it really gave us the best of both worlds.

The furnishings and equipment are of high quality and the underfloor heating downstairs makes it lovely and cosy. Highly recommended and we will return.

  • "The perfect retreat."

Cosy yet spacious, comfortable yet luxurious. It had a real rustic feel that’s been designed to pamper you. Woods and campfires in the grounds and views of the moor. Great location for getting out to the Tors or escaping to the coast. And lastly, the photos don’t do the barn justice. Seeing is believing. Definitely going back!

  • "Property very comfortable, owners very welcoming, property is down a very narrow country lane we have a VW Golf, and needed to fold in the side windows to avoid scratches from the bracken hedges."

during our week stay we only met a tractor once resulting in having to reverse the car back up the lane until we reached the farm gate. Other than that no issues at all. L Smith, July 2022

  • "Very much enjoyed staying at the Threshing Barn."

A beautifully converted barn; plenty of space throughout with a mix of old beams and modern floors, The upstairs felt light and airy. There is enough space for 4 or 5 if there were the bed space for them. See if you can work out the light switches. The setting and outdoor facilities are more than I would expect to find with a rented property: swimming pool, sauna (though both out of season when I stayed), tuck shop, field and wooded area with outdoor cooking facilities. The owners have created a lovely place they like to live in, and invite guests to enjoy it too. Narrow Devon lanes sometimes provide reversing practice. And of course the lemon drizzle cake! Easy access to the moor, a good local gym, all the facilities of Okehampton minutes away, with a 24hr Budgens, petrol and the A30 junction even closer.

The accommodation was spacious and clean with a wonderful bit of local land to explore. Our hosts made us feel really welcome and the location was within a mile of the A30, so access to Devon coasts both north and south was particularly easy. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend to others and hopefully we will return shortly.

  • "The accommodation was very spacious, rustic and warming, situated on grounds of greenery and beautiful landscape views."

We were greated and welcomed and given all the info we needed aswell as being told there was a folder inside that covered extra info and local attractions. Such a small world, as we chatted we came to realise that the owner had attended the same school as our son, whats the chances when we live 3 hours from Devon. Lol A fantastic kitchen space that we thoroughly utilised with many a romantic candle lit meal and a bottle of wine. There are many light fixings and light switches scattered about, so ambient lighting can be modified much to your liking. Netflix and chill on the smart TV with ice cream from the tuck shop after a session in the sauna was very pleasant. We were a 10min drive away from Oakhampton Castle that sits beside the river where we set up a picnic after sightseeing the ruins. We genuinely had a lovely stay at the Threshold Barn and cant see any reason why we wouldn't return for more, we both are already missing our home from home comfort and experience. What a lovely break away, thanks much and we wish you both the very best for your future and business. Cheers Lloyd and Lisle. Best wishes Steve & Ann
