  • "Lovely house and very comfortable with everything we needed at hand."

    The views were stunning. Excellent bus service. The only slight downside for us was the very steep hills. We struggled a bit at times but managed. Didn’t spoil our overall enjoyment of the house and the areas we visited.

  • "The house had everything for a comfortable stay, was very clean and in a quiet neighborhood."

    The only drawback was the location-it wasn’t easy to find and there was nowhere within easy walking distance. It served our needs very well as it was a good central area to visit many locations by driving from Salcome to Sidmouth and even RHS Rosemoor. Overall we really enjoyed our stay -just wish the weather had been better.

  • "Our 2nd stay at ocean retreat."

    This holiday home is outstanding the property is spotless shout out to Lucy the house keeper. One of the best homes we have stayed in. It is very comfortable everything you could ever need we love the fact it has a garden area to chill out. Parking is another firm favourite this place has to offer. Definitely will be returning the owners have made it a beautiful home from home couldn’t ask for anything more and thank you for the lovely welcome pack full of goodies most appreciated

  • "We enjoyed our stay at Ocean Retreat."

    Everything was spotlessly clean, the beds and sofa were comfortable and the kitchen was well equipped. We appreciated the welcome gifts that were left for us; a very kind touch. We were not keen on Paignton, the nearest beach resort, which is full of amusement arcades and junk food, but Brixham was not too far away and is far nicer. We also went to several other interesting places in the area: the Berry Head Napoleonic forts, Totnes, Dartmouth, Kingswear, Coleton Fishacre, the Dartmoor prison museum at Princetown, Torquay (for the theatre) and Cockington. Just one suggestion: please provide a mirror in the bathroom; no mirror makes shaving and styling wet hair awkward.

    Quiet area and lovely view of the sea. Had everything you needed for your stay except maybe a make-up / shaving mirror in the bathroom was the only thing missing in our opinion. Decor and furnishings were lovely. Thanks for a lovely stay.

Ocean Retreat, a delightful, three-storey house is situated in Goodrington, near to Goodrington Sands, on the outskirts of Paignton, a popular seaside resort in Devon.

Set over three floors, this charming abode offers off-road parking for one car, an enclosed lawned garden, a collection of well-presented, contemporary interiors, and a superb location just a short stroll from the nearest shop, pub, and beaches, making it a perfect base for a family or group of four friends seeking a refreshing getaway just east of the brilliant Dartmoor National Park.

Park up, unpack, and make yourself comfortable in your lovely new lodgings.

Step through the front door and be immediately greeted by a ground-floor utility housing a washing machine and toilet before you head up the carpeted stairs into the open-plan living space.

Here, acquaint yourself with the fully-equipped kitchen, whipping up a delicious, home-cooked feast to savour upon the elegant breakfast bar.

When you’re ready to relax, pour yourself a glass of your favourite beverage before you kick back in the sitting space to watch a film on the Smart TV, or outside in the lawned garden to soak in more of your gorgeous setting.
