  • "Directions to the accommodation were accurate."

Reception proved a little difficult to locate as was the lodge due to poor signage. We had to ask a groundsman where the lodge and parking space were. Something which was not listed in the property description and is not shown in the external photograph are the half dozen high steps and slope you have to negotiate to get from the parking space to the shallow steps in front of the propert ( as seen in the photograph). A glaring omission not only in terms of carrying luggage but for anyone with mobility difficulties such as myself. The purpose of booking somewhere with all accommodation on the ground floor was to avoid such things. Fortunately I didn’t have to traverse this obstacle that often. The welcome pack was comprehensive however did not include milk as stated. Fortunately the site shop was still open despite it being 6pm. The accommodation itself is very clean, spacious and as described. Two bathrooms meant my wife and I could prepare for the day separately thus giving more time to enjoy the surrounding area. The Smart TV with Netflix is a nice touch as many places do not supply anything other than a small basic TV. Wifi was a decent speed. Kitchen is well equipped with everything you need (even somewhere to store food, something lacking in the majority of places). There didn’t appear to be any instructions on operation of the heating, other than the fire in the living area. Fortunately it wasn’t required during our visit. Instructions in lodge say to leave the keys in the key safe on departure but no combination given. Keys returned to reception who were expecting them. Overall very happy with the experience despite the few niggles.

We're delighted to hear that Mr & Mrs Whyte were very happy with their holiday accommodation but we're sorry to hear that they found it difficult to locate the site reception, and our lodge. We have raised this issue with the site owners and they have indicated that, although the reception is signed from the entrance, they are introducing new signage across the site in the new year and will take Mr Whyte's comments into account. We have also asked Sykes to provide a pdf plan of the site to guests along with the key collection instructions. We must apologise for the omission regarding steps in the description and thank Mr Whyte for bringing this to our attention. There are approximately 15 steps from the designated parking space to the lodge. At our request, Sykes have already added a note on the description page to this effect. Unfortunately, following experience of considerable wastage, the site owners had ceased including milk in the welcome pack, but hadn't informed us. We have therefore asked Sykes to remove this from the description. Property Owner
