Greendown Farm

Nestled in the heart of North Devon, Greendown Farm is surrounded by 75 acres of luscious green pastures and offers stunning views of Exmoor and the North Devon countryside. You may hear the sounds of cows grazing in the field, or the clucking of chickens among the gentle rustles of wildlife. These traditional stone-built cottages, set within the peaceful grounds of this working farm and with an idyllic hilltop position, offer family-friendly accommodation to be enjoyed the year-round. The main farmhouse is for larger groups to enjoy gatherings, reunions and other special occasions, whilst the other cottage is perfect for couples, families and friends alike. The meadow at the front is shared by the cottages and offers stunning views across the farmland and countryside beyond. Through the fields at the bottom of the hill is the fenced fishing lake, which you are welcome to use at your own leisure. It is well stocked and you may even be lucky enough to spot a visiting heron from time to time. This is a beautiful, tranquil setting to make the most of during your stay. The small village of Chittlehampton is nearby boasts a lovely village square, church and 19th century traditional pub. A short drive away is the stunning North Devon coastline offering many sandy beaches waiting to be explored. The market town of South Molton offers farm shops and deli shops, as well as a honey farm where you can watch bees working behind glass. Barnstaple is situated at the mouth of the Taw Estuary, just a short drive from the Exmoor National Park. This busy town with a pannier market, shops, restaurants and bars, along with two fabulous sandy beaches, is rather popular among surfers and families. This wonderful location in North Devon countryside of wooded river valleys and rugged moorland is just what you need to recharge your batteries, with a charming base in which to do so.

The property

This traditional-style farmhouse, dating back to the 16th century offers spacious accommodation and an exceptional standard of quality throughout.

Perfect for large groups, this cottage boasts a wonderful south-facing, elevated position with far reaching views over the North Devon countryside to Exmoor.

Inside you will find all the features of a traditional country house, including uneven floors and beamed ceilings.

There are two kitchens with breakfast areas and a rayburn range cooker adding warmth to a cosy setup.

The woodburner in the lounge is set within the stone inglenook, adding character to the room.

A utility houses washing and drying facilities, whilst the shower room on the ground floor boasts a large walk-in shower cubicle.

Upstairs, the bedrooms are of a a lovely quality and the enclosed garden outside offers a manicured lawn and pretty shrubbery.
