  • "A spacious and comfortable home from home."

The owners were very helpful but did not interfere with our enjoyment, and we would not have known that we were on a working farm. A delightful part of the country and the property is well placed to take advantage of all that is on offer.

  • "Lovely cottage which catered for every need."

Cottage very clean tho felt damp in places and the main shower seems to have a water leak issue which seems to of caused damp patches on ceiling and slight mould although did not affect the working of it. Jayne the host was lovely and readily available and upon arrival leaves home made baking treats which were fab. Great host.

  • "All wooden chairs in dining room, wooden planks for kitchen seating, settee really uncomfortable and very low to floor, wicker chairs uncomfortable and low to floor."

No draws or cupboards to put clothes in bedrooms. Should not have to live out of a suitcase that was on the floor making it difficult to bend to get to clothes. White curtains attracted moths and these did not block out the light. Bed in back room was comfortable but bedding covering quilt was very thick, cotton would have beEn better. White plates in kitchen were uninspiring to eat from as black scratch cutting marks on all of them. Toast was left in the toaster from previous people. Downstairs toilet is not an accessible toilet for a partially disabled person as no room to get on and off toilet. Bathroom window is not obscure.

  • "Thanks for a great holiday."

Really enjoyed our time on the farm - fantastic views and great bird watching. It was a pleasure to meet and chat with Jayne and Rowan. Great to see their efforts to put the environment first as part of managing the farm and holiday accomodation. Keep up the good work!

It was the perfect base to explore Devon from and was the perfect, relaxing spot to return to. The hosts were incredible, so welcoming and kind, thank you for opening up your farm to your visitors - my daughter loved seeing all the animals! We are already looking at when we can return next year!

  • "Pretty spacious warm rustic cottage in a beautiful quiet location with plenty of wildlife."

Very well equally kitchen and very comfy beds. The owner left us a lovely homemade cake on arrival which was very much appreciated. The only things that would have made this cottage perfection for us would be better seating in the lounge, as the sofa is very low, slouchy and uncomfortable, the other option is some hard wicker chairs. Also, apart from the bathroom mirror over the sinks upstairs there are no other large mirrors, only one portable A4 sized mirror between the 3 bedrooms.

...we all have cars anyway. The cottage is big and to stay in on a rainy day is a pleasure. Plenty of room, bedrooms are huge and dark and quiet at night. The kitchen is well stocked with whatever you need, just bring food and cook. The lounge is big, a log burner and plenty of wood available. The setting on a farm makes it one of the better places to stay. We were well looked after by the hosts.

  • "Lovely cottage in the middle of nowhere."

A little sanctuary and so, so peaceful. The cottage was very clean and the owner always nearby if we needed anything. Nothing was too much trouble. Only feedback and certainly not a criticism but I took my parents as a gift and my Dad is a little disabled in that his legs don’t work very well. Stairs were not an issue as he’s ok if he has something to hold on to so no problem there. It was just the seating in the living room as very low so he had trouble getting out of it. As I said, certainly not a criticism but something you don’t know until you are there. Beautifully designed house. Very minimalistic which we loved. In the middle of acres of farm which you have the freedom to walk around. There are chickens (we loved the fresh eggs!!!), sheep, cows and a bull. The stars at night are fabulous. I would definitely recommend this beautiful cottage.

It lies in the valley of the River Otter and is surrounded by rolling Devon hills, green wooded valleys and plenty of scattered farming villages. Honiton has an attractive High Street stretching almost 2 miles, and lined with individually owned shops, pubs and restaurants. Honiton has been famous for lacemaking since the reign of Elizabeth I and still has a few lacemakers in work today - visitors can see some fine examples of antique lace in the town’s Allhallows Museum. Honiton boasts the only public art gallery in East Devon; the Thelma Hulbert Gallery occupies an attractive Grade I listed Victorian house, and has links with the Hayward Gallery, London. Honiton is only a short drive from the dramatic 20 mile stretch of Jurassic Coast, England’s first natural World Heritage Site. Resorts such as Seaton, Budleigh Salterton and Sidmouth are found along this stretch of coastline, and all have much to occupy the visitor.
