The property

A delightful mid-terraced Late Medieval cottage in the very heart of Hatherleigh in North Devon.

With its charming, cosy interior, Lemon Cottage is ideal for a family or friends who are looking to discover this beautiful area of England.

Walk in from one of the town's main high streets straight into the homely, cosy living diner, finished with large comfortable seating and an electric fire, all that you need to relax of a night time after a busy day of exploring this part of Devon.

The ground floor is bursting with traditional features from wooden beams to vintage artwork and ornaments, complete with a bathroom and a well-appointed kitchen to finish off the downstairs.

The upstairs is split-level, containing one bedroom on each level just a few steps apart.

Both bedrooms are warming and cosy with good storage and antique wardrobes, finished off with stunning views of the thatched roofs and cobbled streets.

The historical town of Hatherleigh is traditional and rustic offering plenty of shops, pubs and cafes set on the cobbles.

If you stay in November you may be lucky enough to enjoy the annual Hatherleigh Carnival which includes blazing tar barrels early in the morning and again later in the evening.

Hatherleigh is set just 7 miles north of the incredible Dartmoor National Park, offering something different from the bustling town.

Also nearby is Tarka Trail - a breath taking route for cycling and walking.

Okehampton is just 7 miles away from Hatherleigh.

An hours drive will take you to Port Isaac where Doc Martin is filmed and towns like Mevagissey and Fowey are an hour and 20 mins away.

Also, Bude with its fabulous surfing beaches is 40 minutes away.

Hatherleigh lies in the Torridge Valley just seven miles from the edge of the Dartmoor National Park, and is a wonderful central location for the coast to coast long distance trail, which includes the popular Tarka Trail. The town itself offers a varied selection of interesting craft shops, country inns and cafes. Within driving distance are Okehampton Castle, the beautiful RHS Rosemoor Gardens at Torrington, and even to the dramatic surfing beaches around Bude. Hatherleigh’s central position makes it an ideal location from which to explore this area of Devon.
