The property

Sandwell Manor is a splendid south-facing Georgian mansion hidden in a wonderful rural valley in South Devon and provides fabulous elegant surroundings for large groups of families and friends to enjoy.

In a tranquil spot just a short distance away from the bustling and quirky South Hams town of Totnes and with fast access to lots of major routes, Sandwell Manor sits in an idyllic spot and makes a wonderful location for a celebratory get-together for up to fourteen guests.

You have the largest and most elegant part of the house – the majority of rooms are south-facing and boast uninterrupted views beyond the croquet lawn to the river and lush green hills beyond.

Grand and welcoming, the house has lots of elegant living space and upstairs seven double or twin bedrooms with seven bath or shower rooms to select from.

From the airy elegance of the hallway with its baby grand piano, wander past the quirky bar area to a lovely tranquil sitting room a woodburning stove and plenty of seating to relax on.

Behind this room, a snug with large Smart TV, games and squishy sofas awaits, as well as a ground-floor cloakroom.

The kitchen is large and modern with sidelong views over the drive towards the River Harbourne; well-equipped it’s easy to create a leisurely supper or perhaps arrange private catering for a celebratory meal.

The elegant dining room seats up to 16 people with a woodburning stove and views out over the croquet lawn; a great space for hosting a special meal.

Upstairs on the first floor choose from seven well-presented bedrooms; set up as either super king size, king size or twin and with a total of seven shower or bathrooms there are ample excellent facilities for all your party.

All the beds are zip and link so rooms can be made up as twin rooms if necessary.

Outside and beyond your front terrace and lawn, children can play ball games on the rough lawn, ride their bikes along the private driveway or you can show off your tennis skills with a quick match on the shared tennis court.

Ideally positioned within the fantastic South Hams area of Devon and just south of Dartmoor National Park there is so much for guests to see and do within the area.

Hop in the car and head for the nearby town of Totnes where you will find a castle, weekly market and alternative range of one off shops, art galleries and teahouses.

Jump on a river cruise along the Dart to the historic naval town of Dartmouth, catch the steam train to Paignton – or for the animal lover a visit to Pennywell Farm or Paignton Zoo is a must.

Spend your days taking scenic hikes on Dartmoor’s southern edge or take a relaxing stroll along the South West coastal path exploring such iconic spots such as Bigbury on Sea and Slapton Sands and nature reserve.
