Hello, so glad you were able to relax and enjoy the scenery. We are very fortunate to have lots of wildlife around and sometime if you are awake early enough you can catch deer passing through the orchard. It’s usually the owl that most people can hear in the evenings when in their hot tub though. Property Owner

  • "We had a lovely time staying at Little Silver Leaf however our hot tub seemed to have a problem, it didn’t reach above 32."

5 degrees which made the hot tub only warm rather than hot. When this was brought to the attention of our hosts, we were a little disappointed we were not offered any money back or offered any alternative for not being able to use the hot tub to its full potential .

"Thank you for your feedback. We are so sorry the hot tub was cooler than expected during your stay. We didn’t notice the issue until the water was changed over for your visit, and were unable to get hold of the relevant part from Jacuzzi until after you left. We were able to offer you use of another hot tub at Little Silver Owl, which could be reached either on foot or by golf buggy. Regarding the lack of hot water, the hot water cylinder is about 80 litres whose size is consistent with 35-45 litres per person for a typical domestic household. It is heated by an immersion heater, so should recover within 30 minutes of being exhausted, and we’re very sorry you weren’t able to enjoy as long a shower as you had hoped. Finally, we do offer complimentary Nespresso pods in the gift basket but find that most of our guests use those and supplement with their own when those have been consumed.” Property Owner

) The underfloor heating and wood burning stove, combined with full insulation, was more than adequate to heat the hut, in cool but not freezing conditions. The golf buggy to transport luggage from the car was a fun novelty. Super comfortable bed, and lovely welcome basket with apple juice, eggs and honey all from Peter and Lisa at Little Silver House, and other goodies too (a bottle of wine, cheese scones, coffee, shortbread) Amazon echo a really nice touch..instant music on request. Excellent shower in the tiny but well designed bathroom, and the hot tub, of which we made full use morning and evening, was wonderful, especially in the dark under the stars. Lots of info about the surrounding area; a very pleasant walk up to the pub in High Bickington, with magnificent views of the surrounding countryside. • "The photos of the hut do not do it justice."

A great deal of care and thought has obviously gone into the set up and the results are amazing. The huts are nicely secluded on a hill side with amazing views something shared with the hot tub. Inside the hut is a cosy area just perfect for two, it is well laid out and comes with all you would need for a break. The need to use a golf cart is a surprise but when you get to the hut you can understand why and to have cars being used would ruin the tranquil setting, it was however a big challenging with the amount of rain. The host also provide the most amazing welcome basket full of local treats and a very comprehensive guide book to the local area. If you want a quiet relaxing break in beautiful surroundings then this is definitely the place to go.

The shepherd's hut has underfloor heating so is as warm as you like and if you want more heat then light the wood burner if you can.
