Very well equipped with high end fixtures and fittings. Very peaceful and quiet location but also a good base for exploring Dartmouth and many lovely beaches.

  • "We had a wonderful holiday at Hillfield Village."

The apartment was immaculately clean and very well appointed. A calm and peaceful location well placed for access to Dartmouth and other areas of South Hams. I can recommend without hesitation and will definitely stay here again. Thank you so much for a thoroughly enjoyable week.

  • "This is a wonderful, clean, beautifully furnished apartment in a stunning and peaceful location."

Everything you could possibly need was thought of and we wished we could have stayed longer. It's just a short drive to the centre of gorgeous Dartmouth down a narrow lane (you need to good at reversing back to passing places). There is so much to do in the area. Would definitely recommend.

  • "Everything was perfect and we really enjoyed the tranquil surroundings."

The apartment was very clean and well organised. I would suggest that the only thing that we think could be improved on would be a bedside clock and that there were no working clocks anywhere in the apartment...the one in the kitchen was not working. Also although we appreciate the bottle of wine that was left we would much prefer a small supply of tea and coffee and maybe a pack of biscuits or scones which would have been much more welcomed. Other than that we really enjoyed our time there. Thank you verymuch.

  • "The condition and cleanliness of the apartment were very good indeed."

The coffee maker issue was sorted very quickly with de-scaling pods - many thanks. Unfortunately the noise from the visitors (possibly their children) running about in the apartment immediately above was most disturbing and at one stage sounded like they may come through the ceiling (it would start, then stop, then start again and it went on like this for hours - without exaggeration). We put up with it for as long as we could and when we knocked on the door in the morning of Monday to ask them to please keep the noise down that day/evening, there was no one there where they had departed the building. Within No5, we noticed the bathroom extractor fan did not operate with the bathroom light switch (with the fan isolator switch above the bathroom entrance door in either position and all the MCBs in the power panel were in the ON position) so we kept the bathroom window open for best ventilation. Also the electric heated towel rail did not have an immediately obvious method of switching it off (resulting in it being on 24 hours a day with electric being consumed continuously). On the first evening, it was a warm evening and we couldn't find a method of switching off the underfloor heating. There were several low level isolator switches in the rooms/hall but they were not identified as to what they isolated so we did not touch them. The TV was ok, if a little small these days for the size of room when viewing from either sofa. Unfortunately watching /listening to the TV picture/sound was problematic where we had to regularly adjust the aerial cable into the back of the TV to try and get a steady picture/sound that wasn't pixelated/broken. We were contacted by Sykes on the Saturday morning (we arrived Friday at 16:00) and were asked if there were any issues with the apartment. I explained about the coffee machine and also mentioned the problem with the TV picture/sound (the noise from the apartment above was not obvious at that stage). The coffee de-scaling pods were ordered and supplied by the owner very quickly via Amazon/Royal Mail to the door and enabled us to then use the coffee machine. We were informed by Sykes during their curtesy call they were aware of the issue of the TV picture, it affected the whole building, they would however report it to the building maintenance people again and ask them to check and see if they could try and improve it but they didn't hold out much hope and suggested we don't view any HD channels to get the best results....... (we never heard from Sykes again - i.e. asking if the TV issue had been sorted). Not the answer we were expecting when, from the advert for the apartment, it states '.....snuggle up with your partner on the large corner sofa, and settling in for a movie night'. There was no corner sofa and although we wanted to watch a movie on the TV - we couldn't due to the poor picture / sound quality (oh, and the thumping through the ceiling from the apartment above the sitting room). Thank goodness we had brought an I-pad and we watched our own Netflix in the relative quiet of the bedroom via the wifi in the apartment...... A frustrating and expensive weekend for what was supposed to have been a relaxing one for us both and a surprise for my partner (well it was but not what I intended). Would we stay again - not unless the issue with the TV signal is rectified (and in this day and age this should be le to be done easily by a suitable aerial company for relatively low cost), a larger TV to relax in front of and view said movies, instructions on how to switch the heating off were included within the apartment instructions (oh, and less noisy neighbours above - not sure how you can control that one though). Sorry if it wasn't what you were expecting, but we have tried to be open and honest (we own a rental apartment ourselves and regularly check with the occupier if all is okay and act on their feedback to quickly rectify any issues found, which thankfully are few). As we first said in the opening sentence, the apartment condition and cleanliness were very good indeed. That was our experience but not one we want to repeat.

The apartment was lovely and clean (the mattress was the most comfortable I’ve slept on, I would love to know what mattress and firmness it is?). There are building works going on, on-site but this did not affect our stay. Would definitely recommend.
