  • "The owner will be aware of our feedback and did go some way to resolve and compensate us during our stay."

The owner also asked us to send the many pictures we took of all the issues mentioned to the cleaning company that are used at this property which we duly did although they did not respond. On arrival it became clear that, other than new clean bedding and towels, the accommodation had not been cleaned. With wet paint patches on the half finished badly decorated walls, brick dust, grease, dead flies, dirty sink, dirty table and cutlery, coffee stained kettle - we complained to the owner who made some attempt to clean. We subsequently had to complain again because the shower, toilet and shower room floor were still filthy with hair clippings and dirt. The shower cubicle grout was badly mildewed and the shower door was not fitted properly. The toilet seat hinges were badly corroded with the chrome flaking off. Cobwebs hanging from the ceiling, badly hung pictures part covering holes and marks on the walls made the entire space feel dirty, old and poorly maintained. We have been using Sykes for many years and this is by far the worst experience we have had. We would not stay at the property again and the lack of property inventory quality control makes it very unlikely that we will use Sykes again either.
