  • "Fabulous views from this wonderful property."

Clean, comfortable, great bathrooms with mega sized baths and powerful showers. Well equipped with everything from two teapots to Tupperware. A real home from home. Beds very comfortable. Could do with more power points in bedroom 2 or even an extension lead from power point behind wardrobe. Hope Cove is perfect holiday destination and great walking. The coast path is accessible from garden gate. Book ahead to secure “a pod” at Lobster Pod Bistro. Outstanding feature is location with panoramic view of Hope Cove and surrounding cliffs. Thank you for sharing your wonderful home, we had an amazing time at 2 Sea Gardens.

View fantastic. Had everything we needed to have a very chilled holiday. Would definitely go back, however next year we need a place we can take dogs.

  • "We very much enjoyed our stay once again at Sea Gardens ."

We did think that a freshen up of decor would be of benefit to the overall holiday . Nonetheless it wouldn’t deter us from visiting once again , making it our 3rd visit . A BBQ area would also appreciated, along with the views that would be much appreciated.

Dear Michael I am so pleased that you enjoyed another visit to Sea Gardens. I was interested in your comment regarding the decor and would appreciate your suggestions as to how it can be improved as we like to make improvements to the property each year. Can I suggest you discuss my request with your family. Property Owner

A comfortable, well equipped cottage with wonderful views. Superb eating places in the village and great walks on the doorstep. An extremely well insulated home which was unheated this week, but still felt very warm and cozy.

  • "Everything excellent and position superb."

Couple of items possibly need attention soon as mixer tap in kitchen loose and hot tap in first bedroom on left loose. This didn’t affect us but could cause future problems if not attended to. We hope to return to beautiful Hope Cove next year. Thank you.

Thank you for your positive review and feedback regarding the taps. We have already had a plumber to tighten both taps. Property Owner

  • "Electric oven and hob needs replacing."

Couldn’t get main oven to work. Used mini oven. Mattresses I in bedroom with patio door very saggy Otherwise lovely apartment very well equipped. Amazing view. Really enjoyed our stay and appreciated the car parking.

Thank you for your feedback, we are currently staying at Sea Gardens and both ovens appear to be working satisfactorily. Regarding the bed, we are sorry you found it uncomfortable. That particular mattress is fairly new, but we appreciate that it may be softer than some people like, however, there is a firm mattress in the other double bedroom. Property Owner

  • "The accommodation was spotlessly clean, spacious, very well equipped and very comfortable with wonderful views."

However, in the description, I think that you should explain about the steps down to the house, to warn people with possible mobility difficulties. Also, the drawer of instruction books etc. needs sorting. We had difficulty finding clear instructions on the use of several of the white goods and there were conflicting sets of instructions about recycling.

  • "This was our second visit to 2 Sea Gardens and as before, it was excellent!"

We love the location, the accommodation was very well equipped, spotlessly clean, comfy beds and a great view over Hope Cove bay from several areas of the property. It is very convenient for the beach, walking, golfing and a few local eating places 2 mins walk from the property. Only one small food shop in the village but not a problem for us as we organised a supermarket delivery for our arrival which worked perfectly well. For anyone who needs it, there is a highchair in the accommodation but no cot. We would thoroughly recommend to anyone seeking a peaceful break.

  • "We had a fantastic family holiday at 2 Sea Gardens."

The apartment was extremely comfortable and clean. The view was amazing and the apartment was lovely and quiet which overall contributed to a relaxing holiday for the whole family. We’d definitely recommend staying here to our friends.

  • "We thought the apartment was exceedingly well equipped and we were all impressed with how clean it was ."

Location was superb and the view of the cove and sea was amazing . Just a couple of things - we think electric points near mirrors in bedrooms would be good for drying hair .There was only one bedroom where we could dry our hair near to a mirror . Also we were told there was no out side chairs whereas in fact there was - so we bought some down with us - which we used a a hug amount - so I think the property details published should be amended to say that outside chairs are provided ( and kept in hall cupboard )

  • "Second time we’ve stayed here and it’s a great property."

The location is pretty good and hard to beat. Generally the accommodation is great. Good size rooms with quality furniture and appliances. All the equipment you need for a great holiday. The main disappointment is the bed linen. Both times we’ve stayed here there’s been an issue with the zip and link bed linen: the mattresses on the beds are quite deep (30cm plus) but the super king size sheet provided comes nowhere near fitting as it was only 22cm deep. Each morning the sheet is coming off and has to be replaced. Deep fitted sheets are not hard to find, we have a super king bed at home with a deep mattress and our sheets fit. If we ever book this property again I will definitely bring my own bed linen. The issue with the king size bed was that the mattress cover was too big. With the price paid for this property I would expect better attention to the bed linen. Regarding the cleanliness: guessing that the property was not occupied during the Covid-19 lockdown it’s a pity that the shower room didn’t get a bit of TLC, some bits of silicone around the door could do with replacing as they’re black and the shower head also needed a good clean. We also found there was dirt and dust under the sofas. Recycling bags were difficult to locate: there was a big roll of blue ones but it took a couple of days to find the clear ones. The previous guests had mixed the recycling up so the refuse collectors wouldn’t take it. The same happened to us last year and it’s a nuisance to feel you’re responsible for the previous guest’s rubbish. All in all, a bit disappointed this year.

Thank you for your feedback on your recent stay at 2 Sea Gardens. We were disappointed to hear that that you had a issues with the bed linen, the owners have purchased new deep mattress protectors and our laundry unit will be supplying flat sheets going forward. The shower enclosure door is being upgraded over the winter months and please be assured that all the silicone has been thoroughly cleaned and any trace of mould has been addressed. We’re so sorry to read that there were cleanliness issues upon your arrival; we do encourage our guests to get in contact with our local office if there are any issues as we would have been able to rectify these for you. Despite this we hope that you had another fantastic time enjoying Hope Cove and all that the area has to offer. Property Owner

  • "Really enjoyed staying at 2 Sea Gardens."

The property was equipped with everything we needed. Plenty of kitchen equipment and a good sized fridge. Ample and comfortable sofas. Plenty of storage space for clothes. The zip and link bed was a little soft for us but still comfortable. The only issue was with the bed linen: the mattress cover for the king bed had been put on the super king bed so was too small: the sheet on the super king bed was also not deep enough and did not reach the bottom of the mattress, together with the incorrect mattress cover this meant both came loose in the night. We only discovered the reason for the mattress cover error when we stripped the beds on departure, the mattress cover on the king bed was much too big and was obviously on the wrong bed. I’m really not sure how this should be possible, it was obvious that the mattress covers didn’t fit correctly. Some mould around shower in shower room, Needs to be cleaned or sealant etc replacing.

About the location

HOPE COVE

Salcombe 4.6 miles; Kingsbridge 5.1 miles

The picturesque and unspoiled village of Hope Cove lies in the sheltered curve of Bigbury Bay on Devon’s south coast. A choice destination for families, the two beaches offering soft sand and rock pools for sandcastle building and fishing for small crabs. The town remains a fishing village where crabs and lobsters are still landed, however it was once used by smugglers. Many ships have perished around the coast and the wrecks that lie beneath the waves make it a popular spot for divers. Above the beach there are a number of pubs and restaurants. The coastal footpath can be joined from here and leads towards Bigbury-on-sea in one direction and the coastal resort of Salcombe in the other.
