It’s perfect for larger groups and we loved our stay. It is very well equipped. It’s in a great location with stunning views. Just a few things to consider: - The crockery needs replacing as it is very scratched, chipped and there were only seven mugs which wouldn’t be enough for 10 guests. We actually bought a few extra cups whilst we were there. - The rubbish bins were already nearly full when we arrived and we were also expected to take our empty bottles home (which we were unable to do as our cars were full). This isn’t really acceptable and should not be our responsibility. Who expects to have to take bags of rubbish home at the end of their holiday? Apart from these points, we all thought that this was one of the nicest houses we had stayed in and the owner has great taste in decor!

    - Mrs Elsom, September 2020

Many thanks for taking the time to leave your feedback. We are so happy to hear that you had a great stay and loved the house. With regards to the crockery, the owner is arranging replacement items. Unfortunately the Council does not provide glass recycling in this area, and therefore we ask those that wish to recycle to take their recycling to one of the local bottle banks. We hope that these issues didn’t inconvenience you too much and hope we can welcome you back to the area in the near future. - Sykes owner relations

About the location

HOPE COVE

Salcombe 4.6 miles; Kingsbridge 5.1 miles

The picturesque and unspoiled village of Hope Cove lies in the sheltered curve of Bigbury Bay on Devon’s south coast.

A choice destination for families, the two beaches offering soft sand and rock pools for sandcastle building and fishing for small crabs.

The town remains a fishing village where crabs and lobsters are still landed, however it was once used by smugglers.

Many ships have perished around the coast and the wrecks that lie beneath the waves make it a popular spot for divers.

Above the beach there are a number of pubs and restaurants.

The coastal footpath can be joined from here and leads towards Bigbury-on-sea in one direction and the coastal resort of Salcombe in the other..
