“We had a lovely week in Ilfracombe, staying at 61 Fore Street.”
The house is a lovely terraced cottage and makes a great base for exploring the local area. The owners, Graham and Alison, were helpful and provided all the information we needed, as well as sorting out local parking for us. In these difficult Covid-19 times they took trouble to follow recommendations: the house was well cleaned, left empty for 72 hours before our arrival, and our check-in and check-out arrangements were socially distanced. Our three teenage children appreciated that the house has four bedrooms so no sharing needed, whereas most cottages that sleep up to six have only three bedrooms. The kitchen was well equipped which was important for us, as many local restaurants were fully booked during our stay. Plenty of books and DVDs were provided for evening and rainy day entertainments. Of course a number of local places of interest were closed during our stay, but we found plenty to do in north Devon for a week: walking, cycling and swimming locally, as well as the funicular railway at Lynton/Lynmouth, a boat tour, and a kayak tour from Combe Martin. We recommend this cottage as a good and convenient base for a holiday in the area.
