  • "We are regular visitors to the area and have stayed in Granville Point a number of times and even Number 7 previously, albeit a few years ago now."

The location and cleanliness at number 7, Seascapes was great. However we were really disappointed with how the apartment was equipped. On arrival, there were a couple of tea bags. The dishwasher needed salt and rinse aid from the moment we got there, no surface cleaner or handwash for the kitchen no bleach or bathroom spray for any of the toilets/bathrooms or spare loo rolls. In the kitchen there was a set of 3 pans the largest and most useable was without a lid, making cooking for a family of 5 challenging, no clingfilm, foil, bin bags or basic condiments. In short there was nothing other than 3 small bars of soap left for guests in each toilet. This made for a more hasty and expensive shop than originally planned following a long drive. It would also have been really nice to have had a table that 5 people could sit at. For information, my youngest went flying after tripping on the raised, frayed carpet outside of the shared bathroom door. As I said we love the area, and the location is fabulous, beds comfy, but thought I would share the above as you asked for feedback.

Thank you for providing feedback following your recent stay, we have spoken with the owner who would like to confirm for future guests who visit Seascapes that there is always a welcome tray of coffee/tea /sugar/biscuits and a bottle of fresh milk. The recommendation re rinse aid and salt is in a soft water area which we are in there is that there is no benefit from adding these. There is a spray bottle of multi cleaning liquid under the sink, we never leave bleach as it is unsafe for children. There was a new toilet roll in each of the 3 toilets. We leave fresh tablets of soap on sinks. Unfortunately the lid for the large pan had been put away in the wrong place, we do have 1! We will purchase an additional pan as feel 3 is not enough. Whilst we are a self catering property and are not obliged to provide these items, we do like to provide extras such as foil, cling and food bags, however my delivery of these items did not arrive in time for your stay, I apologise for the inconvenience. We provided 3 bin bags for your stay! The dining room table will seat 6, four chairs at each side and two chairs at the end. I will check the carpet when we go this weekend, this is the first I have heard of this. Despite the points you raised we are delighted to read that you loved the location and comfy beds. The apartment was huge, comfy and very clean. Wonderful sea views. Stayed in March and weather was kind to us. Huge bonus having 2 car spaces in a gated car park. Town just a short walk. Lots of places to visit in the area. I must see is the local museum. Thanks for a wonderful stay once again.

  • "Fantastic views."

Nicely presented and well maintained apartment. Don't be put off by the hill it's not as bad as many people seem to think. Directly on the coastal path. Close detail cleaning could be a little better ie ledges, frames and shades but that is being a bit picky...could also do with a slotted spoon. Overall a great apartment thanks.

Thank you for taking the time to complete your feedback. We are glad you enjoyed the apartment. We have passed on your comments regarding the ledges, picture frames and light shades to our housekeepers. We are sorry that you were unable to find the slotted spoon, there is one in the apartment. We are glad that you had an enjoyable holiday and do hope to maybe welcome you back in the not too distant future. Property Owner

  • "The location of the property is lovely though the hill provided a bit of a challenge for the older ones in the party."

The apartment was spacious and clean and was pretty-well equipped though there were two rusting pans which needed to be discarded and replaced. It was unfortunate that no one had a decent night's sleep during our stay owing to the uncomfortable beds.

Thank you for your feedback, we are pleased you enjoyed the location. We have flagged the pans with the owner and these will be replaced. We are aware bed comfort is a personal preference and we are sorry you did not find them as comfortable as previous guests. Property Owner

We loved the coastal view from all windows. The spacious living area plus toilet facilities on two levels gave each of us room to move about without any compromise. Beds were very comfortable. Kitchen facilities and cooking equipment - all ideal for our requirements. A very enjoyable stay with a bonus - 7 days of sunshine!

Thank you so much we are thrilled you had an enjoyable stay. Property Owner

Beautiful outlook across the Sea and surrounding Town makes staying here a joy. The apartment is nicely furnished and the Beds comfortable. Bathrooms are clean and tidy with excellent showers . Short walk to Town and short drives to places like Woolacombe make this an excellent base from which to see the surrounding Countryside. Seagulls are a hazard to car paintwork but nothing much can be done to prevent that, it is by the Sea after all, but cleaning it off quickly is need or else paintwork will be damaged. Would we holiday here again…yes we would and enjoy just as much as the previous two stays.

  • "Some really good and some really bad things."

The views and size of the apartment were amazing. It was well stocked (other than having to provide our own hand soap). The location was as listed. The towels and sheets felt air-dried and rough and quite old - definitely not ‘luxury’ We had two issues with heat and hot water while we were there which were resolved fairly quickly. However, during this we discovered that quite a few people nearby had keys to the apartment. This is understandable BUT quite alarming because there is no inside security lock for safety while in the apartment. The bedrooms are downstairs and you would not be able to hear someone entering the apartment. When we first got there, we had to get out the vacuum to remove 6 spiders and their well-established webs from the living room corners. The TV only had freeview - in an apartment listed as luxury I would expect a smart TV to be able to stream from an iPad to the TV. Last but certainly not least, the sofa and chairs were the most uncomfortable I have ever experienced. Seriously painful. Made worse by no footrest or reclining. In the evening it is nice to be able to sit and relax and watch TV or read a book. This was not possible.

The storm that raged the country, knocked out one of the main communal boilers. both electric and hot water were reinstated quickly. In the meantime were supplied several auxiliary heaters. We would like to reassure future guests that no one would enter the property without ringing the bell or knocking for the visitors first and only then if there was a safety issue. As for the suite, this is the first time we have had a complaint, furniture is subjective to personal judgment. Property Owner

  • "A wonderful apartment in a great location which is very well equiped - far more so than others we have stayed in, we didn't lack for anything."

Our only comments which I would like to be taken as constructive points not complaints, would be the cleanliness of the shower cubicle in the ensuite (black mould) which also has a leak through to the skirting board which leads to a horrible drain like smell. We did find an air purifyer in the bedroom which helped dispel the odour. There was also black mould on the shower screen in the main bathroom. Also the towels could all do with a good boil wash with some Glowhite - they are probably past their sell by date. We had a lovely stay and would like to thank the owners for sharing their property.

Thank you for your feedback. The drain smell you mention is thought to be due to the amount of rain from the storm leading to the drains overflowing. This is being looked into further. The showers are cleaned extensively with bleach, so we are at a loss as to why there is mould. The towels were new at the start of the season but will be monitored. We are glad to hear of your positive comments. Property Owner

  • "The seal had gone on the fridge / freezer door, whenever we closed the fridge door the freezer door popped open and vice versa."

I couldn't look up how to remedy as the Wifi was not working. Paper instructions for this would have been useful - they could have been laminated so wiped after use - or even stuck to the fridge door. Also annoyingly the lift was not working for the whole duration of our stay, which when bringing in shopping, suitcases up and down the stairs was far from ideal - a couple of small things that were unnecessarily irritating. Also with the sleeping arrangements being at the bottom and living quarters upstairs, the downstairs was very airless and quite claustrophobic. The apartment however was stunning and the views just as seen in the photographs.

It would have been good to have a second set of keys. Otherwise apartment was very spacious and the views were fabulous. Onsite parking a definite bonus. Our main issue is with the booking website that "bullied" you into getting insurance which most people have via their home insurance.
