“The Linhay was a lovely little cottage, which was beautiful and cosy inside.”

It was just perfect for our short stay in Dartmoor - it had everything we needed! Will be looking to stay again in the future!

The property

This neat little cottage for two is situated in a tiny farming hamlet in countryside, a mile from the pretty little village of Ilsington.

Down a farm track, the cottage is charming and stylish, a romantic place to relax in the sitting room with its dining area and neat kitchen for preparing delicious suppers with local Devon produce.

The layout is ‘upside down’ and downstairs you will find a fabulous double bedroom with its en suite bathroom, the perfect place for a hot soak with deep double bath and separate shower.

Behind the cottage is a pretty raised garden, mostly grass with a paved area with furniture for enjoying the sun and peace of the countryside.

Take a stroll through the acre of woodland which is a conservation area with wildlife ponds and picnic bench.

To wander further afield, lace up your walking boots and spot wildlife and wildflowers along the footpaths and quiet lanes which radiate from the door of the cottage.

Nearby Ilsington offers a good food pub and shop, and it’s not far to the beach at Teignmouth and the striking granite outcrop of Haytor on Dartmoor.

With easy access to the A38, The Linhay is an easily accessible base for exploring the area, yet offers the rural woodland, birds and butterflies which are typical of Devon.
