The property

Nestling in 20 acres of rolling countryside, on a family-owned, vineyard Kenton Park Estate, once part of Powderham Castle estate, is this luxurious and romantic retreat, The Wine Lodge.

Sleeping two people, this converted barn is tastefully designed to create a boutique hotel ambience with the beauty of the Kenton Park Estate making the perfect backdrop to your special escape.

Enter into the property to find a mix of contemporary charm at its interior, with the open-plan living space making a lovely spot to spend your evenings when you're not out exploring the local area.

Take a seat at the wooden dining table, and sample the delicious wine of the Kenton Vineyard before preparing a delicious meal in the amply-equipped kitchen area, home to an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge and freezer, you'll be able to prepare a romantic meal in no time, with a convenient dishwasher and washer/dryer completing the list of appliances.

Sit back and relax in one of the wicker chairs with the television providing your entertainment for the evening, or step outside and make the most of your luxurious hot tub, letting you truly soak in your stunning views, or for those feeling more active, head to the swimming pool before returning to the cottage for a revitalizing shower.

At the end of each day of adventure, seek comfort in the tastefully appointed bedroom with it's sumptuous super king sized bed to sink into.

Be sure to roam the grounds of the estate, with 15,000 vines to explore, as well as an abundance of nature including pheasants, partridges, ducks, wild deer and the rare Swiss Valais Blacknose sheep.

A visit to the magnificent Dartmoor with all it's rugged beauty is a must to discover the many tors and reservoirs, not mention the variety of Devonshire hostelries offering traditional pub lunches.

Famous for its red sandstone church, built during the 14th century, this pretty village of Kenton is situated between Dawlish and Exeter, on the banks of the River Exe. It has a few shops, pubs and eateries to choose from within the village itself, with many attractions to see around the area. Powderham Castle, the home of the Earl and Countess of Devon is set in remarkable grounds, overlooking the Exe Estuary, making a wonderful day out with the family. The seaside town of Dawlish is close by, with a plethora of of shops, restaurants and cafés along with a small cinema. Dawlish Warren is a fascinating mile-long sand beach on the stretch of the south Devon coastline, with shops, a golf course and a 55-acre nature reserve, home to more than 450 species of flourishing plants and wildlife. Exeter boasts a remarkable cathedral, historic quayside and a wealth of bars, shops and restaurants. The gatehouse and tower of Rougemont castle are well worth a visit, surrounded by Rougemont gardens with a backdrop of Roman wall ruins. Within a short drive are some stunning beaches at Sidmouth and Exmouth, and the start of the 95 mile stretch of Jurassic Coast offering fabulous landscape scenery! A superb base, with plenty to explore with the whole family.
