“1st of all I would like to say Sykes were great and kept us up to date right from the start as always.”

The west wing is obviously an old property and one would normally expect maybe to smell a bit of damp and see a bit of wear and tear. The west wing is obviously an old property and one would normally expect maybe to smell a bit of damp and see a bit of wear and tear. However, the place was immaculate and without doubt a 10 out of 10 for cleanliness. Beds were comfortable as was the lovely leather sofas. kitchen knives and pans were all very high quality and all in all the accommodation was well presented. Anyone wishing to stay during the winter months would be advised to light the stove in the lounge as this room became quite cold when the temperature dropped. The adjoining property has a very lovely lady there who is most helpful, unlike her mother in law who made it clear that dog walking in nearby tracks was a non starter as she owned them, although no signs were there to tell us this was the case. The area also had many good restaurants and places to visit. Dartmouth and Salcombe being two of them. All in all good value and a nice place for a stay.

This property is part of the Coast & Country Cottages collection.
Choose from over 400 properties in Salcombe, Dartmouth and the surrounding South Devon coast and countryside - the perfect destination for a holiday all year round.

About the location

SHERFORD

The busy little town of Kingsbridge lies at the head of a marine estuary in the attractive South Hams area of south Devon. During the summer season there are river excursions to Salcombe to see the abundant wildlife in this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), which also forms part of the South Devon Heritage Coast. Visitors can take a walk along the Kingsbridge Quay, wander through the narrow alleys off Fore Street or visit the Shambles, an Elizabethan market arcade. Around the South Hams area there are picturesque ports, such as Dartmouth and Salcombe, together with sandy beaches at Blackpool Sands near Stoke Fleming and the two sandy beaches at Thurlestone. There are a host of small attractive villages in South Hams offering interesting pubs, local farm produce shops and pretty rows of cottages, plus further afield the waterfront city of Plymouth is a vibrant centre housing the National Marine Aquarium, historic Barbican Quay and plenty of nightlife, including theatres, restaurants and bars.

Up to two well behaved dogs permitted.

Accomodation is located on a working farm and is part of the farmhouse.
