“This was a lovely property with a well equipped kitchen and lots of indoor space.”

There wasn’t any outdoor space which was a shame but there was a balcony off the bedroom which provided great views of the area. Track up to the property was quite steep but there was a path down to the main road.

The property

High Bickington 2 miles.

A charming holiday lodge within a small modern, well laid out resort within a mature woodland in the beautiful Taw Valley, known as Tarka the Otter country in the heart of Devon.

Surrounded by spectacular countryside, this well-appointed holiday lodge is in an ideal position to enjoy a range of outdoor pursuits, and will particularly appeal to ramblers being close to the Tarka Trail.

The owner also provides a range of Ordnance Survey maps for you serious walkers, with many routes nearby along with the Dartmoor and Exmoor National Parks and the South West coastal path.

The cosy sitting room proves itself to be a great place to put your feet up after a long day of walking.

This leads through to the kitchen/diner, making the accommodation a very sociable space to holiday with friends and family whilst also offering plenty of private space, having two en-suite bedrooms, each with access to the balcony overlooking the woods.

Take a morning stroll from the doorstep amongst the majestic mature trees and down to the River Taw.

Alternatively, why not explore some of the interesting local villages with their pretty inns, gift shops and farm food delicacies, or, take a short drive to some spectacular sandy beaches including Westward Ho!, Saunton Sands and Woolacombe?

The winding streets of the fishing port of Appledore are well worth a visit, as is the historic and very picturesque fishing village of Clovelly.

For a spot of shopping there is the nearby Atlantic Village outlet centre, close to The BIG Sheep theme park, so there is something for the whole family in this wonderful area of Devon.
