  • "All very clean except for the fan in the bathroom needs to be looked at and cleaned."

    There was no toaster listed at the property so we took our own but did not need as there was one. All in all it was a great place and very quiet. Facilities such as the pool, tennis court and games room were all very well maintained.

  • "Accommodation was dirty ."

    Kitchen and Bathroom was dirty. Pans and pots filthy dirty. No Wi-Fi and no signal at all( should not advertise they have Wi-Fi. Usually left milk or something small in Fridge on arrival- left nothing. Games room shuts at 8 - owner wanting to shut it earlier . Would not recommend. Very disappointing.

    The owners are very puzzled about your review and think you have made this review about another property. Their cleaner has had consistent 5* reviews and very happy guests.  The games room closes at 9pm and is not locked, nor has the owner been at their property for the last 5 months so we do not know who you saw and asked you to leave, possibly another guest or the owner of the other site. In your email you mentioned your stay at the cottage. Primrose is a first floor flat! WiFi like much of Devon isn’t ideal but works and no guests over a very busy summer have commented on any issues. The facilities on site include a swimming pool, tennis court, full size snooker table, games room, table tennis, table football, pool table and pitch and putt golf. The flat is fully equipped and other guest reviews have scored this highly. It is a shame that you did not contact us by phone, email or in person at our local offices in Salcombe or Dartmouth as we would have been able to assist with any issues that have risen including any cleaning or WIFI. We do hope that if you stay in the area again that you do raise your concerns on arrival so we and the owners are able to help. The owner success team on behalf of the owners. Property Owner

  • "This was our second visit to this property as we really enjoyed it in June 2024."

    We like being away from the hustle and bustle, but also like to be close enough to visit nearby places. The grounds are well maintained and being able to swim everyday a bonus. The property is well equipped and very comfortable. Our little dog loves it too.

  • "Loved staying at this property."

    Very well maintained, including the grounds. Having the use of a swimming pool was excellent too. The location was nice and peaceful, away from the hustle and bustle of the towns, but close enough if you required provisions. The bed was very comfortable and the facilities excellent. Most enjoyable.

  • "This was our second time of visiting Stancombe Manor, although in a different apartment."

    We could not fault Primrose, it was pristine throughout. It has every conceivable facility and utensil all immaculately clean. Very comfortable beds and sofas. Would definitely visit again. We visited mid September thinking the area would be fairly quiet, but we were disappointed to find the South Hams area really busy. This is no reflection of Stancombe Manor. Also, it’s worth noting that driving around the narrow roads and lanes of the South Hams is not for the feint hearted.

  • "All the facilities and everything from cooking utensils, to cutlery, pots and pans were ideal to make our stay very enjoyable."

    Very impressed with the quality of everything. The location is a bit of a challenge with the narrow country lanes. Selecting the best route out was testing. As the weather was extremely hot during our stay a fan would have been ideal to make the hot evening and nights more comfortable.

  • "Lovely property situated in a great setting."

    The apartment was really clean and had everything you needed for a great holiday. Furniture and fittings were all good quality. Beds were extremely comfortable. Lovely decor throughout. Great base for a holiday in South Devon.

    The apartment fulfilled all our needs. The swimming pool and games room provided entertainment for our 3 year old grandson and the weather was perfect for exploring South Devon’s gorgeous coastline.

The property

Primrose is a spacious 1st floor apartment, newly decorated and equipped to the highest standard.

Located in a 17th century converted cider barn, providing excellent accommodation for up to four people.

Set in a delightfully peaceful rural setting at the head of a valley.

Guests have use of 13 acres of well maintained grounds, a heated indoor swimming pool, sauna, all weather tennis court, children play area, a pitch and putt course, games room,( including table tennis, pool table and table football), and full sized snooker table.

The outside covered staircase takes you to your own front door opening to an entrance hall off which all rooms lead. The apartment has been newly decorated.

The spacious open plan, double aspect, living space has a cosy sitting area with comfortable sofas, broadband/Wifi, a Smart tv, blue ray player and a bluetooth speaker.

There is a dining area for four and a brand new kitchen that is very well equipped.

The delightful rural views makes this a superb place to relax with family or friends or head outside to the communal gardens where there are plenty of picnic benches and BBQs for guests to use. The large master bedroom has a 5ft kingsize bed built in wardrobes and space for a cot, (if requested).

The second bedroom has two 3ft single beds and built in wardrobes.

All the beds have top quality “Manor Rose” mattresses.

Whether you are looking for a romantic break, a holiday with the family or a couples break with your dog, Primrose is a wonderful base all year round and the perfect blend of coastal splendour and stunning countryside.

There are 3 picnic/BBQ areas in the grounds.
Please bring own tennis racquets.
2 cars can be parked in tandem at the allocated space.
Cot and highchair available on request
The communal indoor heated swimming pool is available for residents' use. Please check opening times onsite. Depth is 1.2m - 2.7m. Children must be supervised at the pool.
There are open tread steps leading to the accommodation entrance.

SHERFORD

The busy little town of Kingsbridge lies at the head of a marine estuary in the attractive South Hams area of south Devon. During the summer season there are river excursions to Salcombe to see the abundant wildlife in this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), which also forms part of the South Devon Heritage Coast. Visitors can take a walk along the Kingsbridge Quay, wander through the narrow alleys off Fore Street. Around the South Hams area there are picturesque ports, such as Dartmouth and Salcombe, together with sandy beaches at Blackpool Sands near Stoke Fleming and the two sandy beaches at Thurlestone. There are a host of small attractive villages in South Hams offering interesting pubs, local farm produce shops and pretty rows of cottages, plus further afield the waterfront city of Plymouth is a vibrant centre housing the National Marine Aquarium, historic Barbican Quay and plenty of nightlife, including theatres, restaurants and bars.
