  • “Generally a lovely rustic cottage however lighting in main bedroom could be improved as very little natural light which is to be expected in an old cottage.”

Main lights in living room did not seem to work and there seemed to be a shortage of forks.

Main lights in living room did not seem to work and there seemed to be a shortage of forks. Little things really as basically a cosy comfy cottage

Thank you for your comments. Since your stay and on discussing with the owner, new and brighter replacement bulbs have been purchased and fitted along with new forks. We are glad to hear you liked the cottage. Property Owner

The property

This pretty thatched cottage is situated at the end of a terrace of five in the centre of Kingston.

Grade II listed, it is charming and traditional Devon accommodation for a comfortable break.

The sitting room is cosy and warm with a wood burning stove as the feature and beams and stone walls to add to the history.

The kitchen has been well fitted with a dining area and useful stable doors opening to a room where you can leave your walking boots and coats.

Head up the steep stairs at the end of a busy day to find the two comfortable bedrooms sharing a bathroom for hot baths and showers after a lovely time on the beach.

A tiny front garden with old fashioned cobbled path sets the cottage back from the little road at the front and at the back you have a little garden with steps up to a lawn and outdoor furniture.

You can store your bikes and boards for the beach in the garden shed.

Wander out to the excellent village inn 300 yards away where you can enjoy delicious suppers with local seafood featuring on the menu.

The lovely coast all around is a delight, with bodyboarding, paddleboarding and kayaking at Wonwell beach and brilliant surfing at Challaborough and Bigbury-on-Sea where you can sign up at the popular surf school.

Walking is a pleasure here, either along the River Erme estuary or along the stunning South West Coast Path, or maybe to Burgh Island of Agatha Christie fame.

Based in a friendly village, Kings Corner is a smashing cottage at any time of year.
