About the location

Kingston is a very pretty Devon village, well off the beaten track in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Popular with walkers, the South West Coast Path from Kingston encompasses some of South Devon’s most stunning coastline, whilst Dartmoor National Park is also within driving distance. Less than one mile from the village is the River Erme’s wooded estuary and beautiful unspoilt, sandy Wonwell beach. The popular 16th century village pub, The Dolphin, is within 5 minutes’ walk, serving real ale and home-cooked meals using local produce. Kingston is just 4 miles from the Georgian town of Modbury and 15-20 minutes’ drive from the market town of Kingsbridge. The city of Plymouth, with attractions including The National Marine Aquarium and Plymouth Hoe, plus the bars and restaurants of waterfront areas including The Barbican, is 20 or so miles away. For sports enthusiasts there is sailing in Salcombe (15 miles), surfing off Bantham beach, or challenging coastal golf at nearby Bigbury and Thurlestone golf courses.
