  • "Not properly cleaned (let alone "COVID-secure" on arrival :("

I am so sorry, this is really disappointing to hear. Massive apologies the clean was not up to standard. We will be taking this up with the cleaning company, who are usually very reliable. Property Owner

  • "The cottage is extremely well equipped and comfortable."

On arrival we found it to be very clean which is reassuring in the current climate. The location is good, about a 5 minute drive to Combe Martin sea front. With a well stocked garage close by. However there were a few negatives for us but not necessarily everyone. The main one is the traffic noise, which starts at around 6am to 9pm. If you're an early riser maybe not an issue, but for us it was a big problem as there were no lie in's. The WiFi was pretty much none existent during our stay. Which was an annoyance but expected in that area. Finally on arrival I twisted my ankle falling down the step into the kitchen. It's the highest internal step I've ever come across and totally unexpected. Definitely not easy to navigate if you have mobility issues. Apart from these negatives we had a fantastic time. I would not personally return to Comers but I would definitely recommend it.

Hello, Thank you for your lovely review! Yep, the WiFi has been a bit problematic because of the valley itself, it is as good as I'm told we can get it now. Apologies about the step in the kitchen, we have labelled it as best we can, it is very steep, but it is an original feature of the cottage, and we tried to stay as true as we could to its original build. • "I have only put failed to meet expectations as there were a number of rather annoying aspects that detracted from this nice property, which I've listed below that might be helpful to rectify for the next tenants: 1) Listing mentioned there would be two TVs available and there was only one - I rang about this, but had no response, which I thought was odd as I'd recently spoken to the owner who v kindly allowed us to access the property early."

    2) The front/back door keys were a nightmare and it was almost impossible to lock the doors easily - we could only find one key that seemed to work. 3) The information provided re heating, cooker etc was very poor, there was a large book with mainly installation instructions!!! What would have been helpful would have been a straight forward and basic pack giving basic instruction on use of appliances - the oven is NOT very good but thankfully we managed not to completely ruin our Xmas lunch! 4) The window coverings were totally INADEQUATE to block out the light from a street light that shines directly into the three bedrooms at the front of the house, especially the small room with bunk beds, it felt like daytime all night - very disappointed with this as it made it very difficult to sleep. 5) Many of the doors did not shut properly ie small bedroom, it wasn't possible to shut the door properly, so not only did the light from the street lamp shine into the room there were also the night lights on the landing!!! The front double bedroom door was awkward and the main bathroom door if after great effort the door and slide lock was engaged, it was SO difficult to undo, a child might not have been able to undo it (though probably wouldn't have had the strength to engage it in the first place). 6) the water temperature was also too low, so when using the lovely stand along bath in the en suite bathroom on the LHS of the property, what would have been a great pleasure was just OKish - again rather disappointing. 7) The internet connection was also lacking, the signal kept dropping out, which made it v difficult to stream anything and we had hoped to watch movies from our laptops linked to the only TV in the property, so couldn't do that effectively - again just detracted from the holiday. 8) Finally, but this may not be something that can be easily solved, the noise that emanates from the fireplace in the RH living room (ie with TV) was very noisy - might be worth having a covering of some sort that could be placed in front of the opening if the fire when it's not in use - we originally though it was traffic or really windy weather outside, but it wasn't, just the way the air funnels down the chimney I presume. We did enjoy our stay, but as mentioned it could have been a great experience rather than just OK Kind regards lc PS I am happy for this information to be published, but will leave it to you as you may wish to rectify the points outlined above, rather than have these comments on the website if they are going to be addressed.
