The property

Bratton Fleming 1 mile.

The remarkable, detached barn conversion of The Linhay rests in Knightacott near Challacombe, Devon.

The perfect retreat for a family of 10, The Linhay enjoys far-reaching views of the stunning countryside of North Devon, whilst being within easy reach of Exmoor National Park and the northern coast.

Upon arrival at the property, you will be immediately taken by the gorgeous surroundings of North Devon's countryside, where you can venture across the way to the walled garden to stretch your legs or make your way inside the dwelling to discover the fabulous accommodation.

When entering the property, you will find a sizeable sitting room to your left, a space that boasts a vaulted ceiling, ample seating for you to relax on and a 55" Smart TV, so you can watch your favourite shows with ease; the room is also home to a toasty woodburning stove that is ideal for those cooler months.

Progress through the property to find the kitchen/diner, where green tiles adorn the walls and exposed beams embellish the ceiling, giving the space a country charm; the chef of the group will be pleased to find a range of appliances to rustle up delicious homecooked meals with.

When dinner is ready, gather around the dining table to tuck into a mouth-watering meal and catch up on the day's events.

The property is also home to a marvellous games room, where the kids can play air hockey or table football in the evenings, whilst you relax in the rear garden's hot tub, taking in those stunning views of the country.

As the day draws to a close, choose between five fantastic bedrooms that all enjoy their own, unique style, with four resting on the ground-floor, a twin and three doubles, and another double settled in a private location upstairs, with access to an immaculate, en-suite shower room.

The ground-floor bedrooms share access to a beautifully finished bathroom, where you can enjoy a peaceful soak in the bath after a day packed with excursions.

In the morning, embark on an idyllic stroll through the side garden and front garden with a steaming cup of coffee in hand, or try your hand at squash or tennis in the rear garden's courts.

The quaint village of Challacombe isn't far and is home to a friendly pub and village shop, whilst also resting close to the fantastic Exmoor Zoo, Bratton Down Point-to-Point, a secure dog walking field and walking trails spanning through Barle Valley.

South Molton isn't far and is where you will find the exhilarating Rock and Rapid Adventures centre, the highly popular Quince Honey Farm, a farm hosting tours, facilities and kid's activities, along with the intriguing South Molton & District Museum.

Spend some time within Exmoor National Park where those outdoor enthusiasts of the group will be delighted by the wealth of footpaths, bridleways and cycling routes weaving through the parkland; Exmoor is also home to the Tarr Steps Woodland and Dunkery & Horner

About the location

Barnstaple 6 miles.

A delightfully rural village, nestling amid lush green fields and wooded valleys on the edge of Exmoor. Famous for its country walks, birdlife and natural beauty, the area is perfect for the visitor seeking peace and quiet, but not isolation. Exmoor, with its rolling hills, red deer and stunning scenery, is the major attraction, with the rugged North Devon coast and its resort towns, sandy beaches, excellent surf and the SW Coast path coming a close second. There is much to do and see; the area boasts stately homes and gardens, theme parks for the kids, beautiful fishing villages, the shopping centres of Barnstaple and Bideford and, most importantly, mile upon mile of unspoilt countryside, from high moorland hills to rolling farmland, to the beautiful banks of the rivers Taw and Torridge. The countryside at its best.
