  • "Lovely well kept property, better than advertised."

Perfect location and lots of amenities around including beaches. Owners were amazing and always full of suggestions of what to do locally. Will book again. Em & Mel, Canada

  • "Lovely setting, good communication with owners and very welcoming reception."

Double bedroom very nicely decorated and bed and bedding very comfortable. Living room and other bedrooms a bit tired looking. It would have been great if there had been some staple cupboard supplies/condiments such as salt, pepper, oil etc . Also more dishwasher tablets would have been useful (3 for 8 people for 4 days is not quite enough), as would more tea towels (one wasnt enough) and a draining board.

Thank you for your feedback, we are glad to hear you had a nice stay. As the property is self catering, the owners may choose to provide a starter pack at the properties however this is not essential. Property Owner

You are out in the countryside, yet 5-10 mins from local shops which is so handy. Then you have Westwood Ho 10-15mins away. A perfect Easter bank holiday. Thank you

  • "What a lovely place to stay."

The farm is in a wonderful location and offers easy access to all of North Devon and parts of Cornwall too, if you don't mind a drive. The accommodation was very well presented, clean and tidy and the owners were very helpful and welcoming. The rooms are large and clearly have been maintained to a high standard. Having a bathroom with separate shower (and what a shower !!) downstairs with another shower room upstairs made life a lot easier for the seven of us. The open plan lounge diner was plenty big enough with a good sized, well equipped kitchen too. Even though we had higher than average temperatures during the day, when the evening came and things chilled off, the whole place stayed warm. I bet it is wonderful when there is snow around. The only issue for us was that although the accommodation is dog friendly, we found the owners two dogs, who roam free quite a bit, weren't always so. When we were walking across the lawn to towards the lakes, there were a couple of occasions when we were forced to turn back because one of their dogs took a dislike to one of ours and it got a bit heated. At the end of the day, we brought our two dogs into their environment so it could be expected and it really didn't cause a huge issue, but might be worth highlighting just in case. Overall a fantastic stay in an awesome setting. Would definitely recommend and very much hope to return. Massive thanks to Mr & Mrs Lee.

  • "As you can note from our formal complaint, logged on to your system last Sunday morning, it was an absolutely dreadful place that did not meet your description or our expectations nor was it even compliant with current regulations."

We arrived late Saturday and only stayed until Sunday morning as it was so dreadful. We have received no feedback as yet to our request for a full refund.

  • "Spacious cottage and friendly owners."

Some of the renovations of the Barton are excellent but others poor. eg Really smart wet room but pile of floor tiles stored in the kitchen. Good furniture and facilities but unpainted door frames and blob of mastic in the toilet pan. Weird mix of great and poor.

Many thanks for your feedback, we have fed your comments back to the owner in order to maintain our property standards. An interesting slice of old Devon rural life. Bideford is a really interesting town, Croyde brought back memories of family holidays and RHS Rosemoor was stunning.

  • "Really chatty hosts and very welcoming."

The house is comfortable and has a well equipped kitchen but really needs a deep clean especially the lounge/dining area. Don't think the sofa has been moved for a long time and the area around the TV is not great. We stayed in a wet and windy October and struggled to keep warm as the downstairs radiators didn't seem to work in the day. Log burner is lovely if you know what you're doing with it.

  • "An excellent host, Mr."

Lee, who went out of his way to make us welcome and very kindly took us fishing on one of the farm's lakes. Excellent accommodation with all mod. cons. and stunning views across towards Dartmoor. The local pub, The Crealock Arms, in Littleham, was top class too. A lovely location with the coast in easy reach. The nearby Gnome Reserve is a must for children of all ages.

  • "The Barton, is in a pleasant, quiet location."

As it's listed as a working farm, we expected to see sheep, cattle and chickens, but didn't, which was a disappointment. The cottage is well equipped - not exactly spotless, but in fair condition - new beds and bedding would be a great improvement! The dishwasher broke down, but a new one was fitted in less than 24 hours, so that was good. And Mr and Mrs Lee, were both very pleasant and welcoming.

  • "We felt really welcome at this farmhouse, which is both tucked away and remote, while being a 5 minute drive to a Supermarket, and really well placed to visit North Devon and Cornish beaches."

When we arrived ‘late’. The fire was lit, and we had all we needed for a cream tea already in the fridge. We spent a week walking, chilling, and fishing with our daughter and her family. The kids could let off steam and find quiet spots to chill in this lovely old farmhouse. We made good use of the washing machine and tumble dryer and even went home without any laundry. A proper break, Thank you.
