Heading in through the handy utility, store your muddy walking boots and coats before refreshing in the ground-floor bathroom.

Continue into the kitchen/diner, fully-equipped for a self-catered stay, where you can rustle up and enjoy meals as a five, or if the weather allows, light the barbecue and bask in the sunshine.

Families will be delighted to discover that Hidden Valley: The Puzzle Park and Trethorne Leisure Park and Golf Club are both located close by. Or head to the historic market town of Launceston, where you'll find an array of independent shops, cafes, restaurants, and takeaways, along with the remains of Launceston Castle.

Just a little further afield is the stunning harbour village of Boscastle, a perfect spot for exploring the coastline on foot and enjoying a spot of lunch, or why not visit the picturesque fishing village of Port Isaac, where you can wander along its narrow streets and admire the local cottages or sample some of the delicious local seafood in one of the many pubs and restaurants.

A very pretty village on the edge of Bodmin Moor, located close to the A30, making it the perfect base from which to tour the many visitor attractions within easy reach. Altarnun itself boasts quaint stone cottages, a stream running through the village, a lovely old church, and a traditional country pub. After a long day exploring the stunning countryside around Bodmin Moor this is an ideal place in which to unwind. Explore four unique villages, Boscastle, Tintagel, Port Isaac and Crackington Haven, each situated along the dramatic unspoiled coastline of North Cornwall. Port Isaac, a filming location in Doc Martin, is a busy port where you can still watch the fishermen hard at work. Walking and cycling are popular activities in this area and there are beautiful churches and historic buildings to discover. Venture a little further afield and walk the high tors of Bodmin Moor, surf the waves of the North Cornish coast, sample the delights of the Eden Project or take a cruise from Truro down the misty reaches of the River Fal to Falmouth.
